Without naming or bad mouthing any of the players, what went wrong in the 2nd half. Can we discuss the way we played in terms of strategy etc rather than individual mistakes.

They upped their game and ours collectively dropped. We couldn’t keep the ball because of their press and basically the entire team panicked. This IMO is down to a lack of experience, leadership, faith in the teams ability to defend effectively and most importantly a quality defender who Marshall’s the backline and gives us the defensive confidence we are clearly lacking. Stick any decent, lead by example defender in that team I. e Kompany, Alderweireld etc and we win. Just my opinion. I am so sick of watching us fall apart when put under pressure and until our back half is sorted we will win nothing. Even my UTD fan friends are feeling sorry for me supporting such a frustratingly inconsistent side when Everyman and his dog can see the defence is not and will not be good enough to challenge at the top as it is now and that damages the pride worse than anything. Love Klopp but you can’t polish a turd. No wonder Phil wants to leave because I love Liverpool and even I would be thinking playing up top for us “what’s the point in me working hard to attack and score when I know this shoddy lot behind me will jut concede? ”. Phew. Rant over. Needed that but seriously that defence and defensive side of the midfield is just shocking.

they pressed us hassled us and really went for it. In simple terms we could cope with it for most part. but we couldn't hold on to the ball.
The major issue for me was the midfield wiji and hendo were off their game a bit (read tired) and they controlled possesion big time. and then we conceded early in the second half, by the time we bought on can and milner, we had already conceded a second goal.
we looked more solid with more people in the midfield but again we couldn't hold on to the ball since there were less options now outside our half.
what we missed in the second half from minute 60-90 was an out ball, we needed a striker like solanke up then for me to hold the ball and ping it to the runners.
Now we can't ignore the bunny here, all three goals were soft, by large individual mistakes esp the third one, when the defensive header didn't go anywhere.
90+ minutes corner against you, you clear the ball to oblivion, that is basic football know how. that is totally acceptable, he could have easily played the ball for another corner. that was the easiest thing to do there in that situation.
we all know what happened that header was school boy stuff. i can't hold the coach responsible for that. that was a bad bad piece of football there from one individual sorry.

for me it just comes down to intangible. ok, I'm sure we can talk tactics all day. but we simply lack the kind of leaders in the team that can consistently rally the troops when the chips are down. many people have made the same comment, but you had that sense of inevitability after their early goal in the second half. do the players really need klopp to tell them to keep the ball and pass it around? was klopp even saying that? whatever, a couple leaders on the pitch to keep cool heads and navigate tough periods in the match.

This is what is wrong Henderson and Wiji were not off their game a bit they were complete and utter garbage. They can't keep the ball, they can't spot danger, they can't think, they can't communicate, they are mentally weak and another 50 things.

I want to be much stronger but the posts never see the light.
