I just want to say, Karius made two world class saves last night an effectively won us a point.

I agree, some very good saves, and although at first view I thought he could've done better on the third goal, it came through so many bodies he saw it extremely late so don't think with hindsight he was to blame for any goal.

Preaching to the choir Benny, unfortunately Klopp doesn’t see it so we’ll revert back to Migs. If the attacking three are a credit to Klopp then Surely playing the wrong keeper in the league is a huge black mark on him as manager.

I've seen enough to suggest he must at least get a chance ahead of mignolet.

World Class? Standards have certainly dropped.

Irish rover he clearly isn't saying Karius is world class! But the 1 on 1 save on to post 1st half, and 1 on to crossbar 2nd were brilliant saves. When de gea etc make brilliant saves like that we rightly praise him so give Karius praise he deserves for once as we're quick to jump on his back for slightest thing!

Tbf, I'd quite possibly would have criticised Migs for the third goal had it been him, so it wouldn't be fair not to mention it in judging Karius. He did see it late, and may not have got to it anyway, but he sort of fell on the ground rather than really dive for it.

But, Karius made two saves that Migs wouldn't have, pressured a Sevilla player into a miss in a 1v1 situation where Migs would've probably sold himself and given them a tap in. He also showed bravery that Migs doesn't display in coming a long way for the ball and basically smashing a Sevilla player out of his way in the process early in the second half. His distribution is far better, even going long all night his kicks ended up where Firmino or Mane could compete for them, whereas half of Migs' long kicks go into no man's land.

So yeah, Karius is unquestionably the better 'keeper, imo. And he's played 8 or 9 competitive games since the new year whereas Migs has 30-40 under his belt, so Migs should be sharper.

I hate the line that goes "if it was X player he would have scored that goal" or "if it was X player he wouldn't have saved that". it's such a stupid way of analyzing things, cos the world's best all miss chances. what we're looking for is a reduction in howlers and in our goal keepers situation we want them to be able to take charge of the backline. I'm not sure whether Karius does that any better than Migs to be honest.
