I think someone in the Liverpool hierarchy should remind Mo Salah before it's too late that he has signed a contract until 30th June 2022. He did not sign a contract until Real Madrid come knocking on the door.

{Ed002's Note - Firstly Real Madrid did not come knocking. Secondly it is naive to expect players to see out their contracts.

Or How about we actually win a few trophies there by making the existing players and new arrivals some amount of belief that we actually mean business and not mere Arsenal!

well atleast i can agree to that Harry.

players stay in a title winning and challenging team.

we haven't challenged in years. in the past 10 seasons, i believe we finished 2nd twice and 4th twice. the rest were not good enough.

we need to change that if we want to sign more players like salah, and keep players like salah.

{Ed001's Note - that is not true. Neymar left Barcelona. PSG have lost many players while winning the league, as did Lyon prior to that. It is never as simple as Harry makes out because life is not simple.}

Neymar is a greedy pig that ran after more money and wanted to be the star attraction without Messi's shadow looming over him. You can hardly compare that situation with other footballers. I cannot think any footballer would want to leave Barcelona or Real with respect to lack of ambition. Neymar is an exception.
PSG play in an average league and its always going to be difficult to keep the best players motivated when there is next to no competition in the league itself. Monaco's team has been ripped apart and once again PSG have no competition. And which players exactly have they lost that they were desperate to keep Ed001? Ibra only comes to mind and he is on his last legs. They managed to keep Verratti off Barca's clutches and that's impressive considering he was their first choice target.

{Ed001's Note - Neymar Sr wanted the money, Jr would have preferred to stay put, but I don't see how it shows ambition to go to Barcelona, whereas you think going to PSG is about money. PSG want to win the Champions League, so surely going there could be as much about that ambition to win it with them as money? You are making assumptions that are unfair.

PSG never wanted to keep Ibra, but, in recent seasons they have seen a lot of players come and go that they would have liked to keep. It is only this season that has changed because they have to offload a bunch due to FFP. I am not going to write a list. Monaco is another good case in point though, if you have ambition to win things, why do you leave a team that has just won the league and challenged in the Champions League?

Simply put, for many reasons. Sometimes their ambitions go beyond winning Ligue 1, others left because they were unhappy that other players were sold. Some it was about money. One that wanted to go was not allowed to.}

ed001 im not saying that is the only way to keep a player, i fully understand your point and i agree, however, surely being able to challenge gives players more reason to stay or atleast something to think about.

no club in the world will be able to hold onto all their players. however, if we do manage to challenge and win titles, atleast we'll be able to keep some from leaving. some who has the burning desire to win and improve, and win more titles with us.

sure some will leave, and i get that, they are human too there are other reasons to leave, its not just money, sometimes its family, culture, weather even.

{Ed001's Note - it will help with some yes.}

Have I missed the part where Salah states he can’t wait to take Bales place at RM? He looks pretty happy to me. I’m sure we will get a few seasons out of the lad yet.

Ed002 is correct about players not seeing out their contracts but i think it is in poor taste to get your agent to sound out another club only a few months after signing for your new club.

I do honestly believe if our defence was not such an absolute joke then our best players would be more inclined to stay, the lack of progress in these areas of the club is why they are getting fed up so soon imo.
