I think it is fair that we all want the same thing, and that is to win the EPL.

The club lost it's way starting with Souness taking over from Kenny, Roy still having the bootroom intact and then being sent packing, Houllier and Rafa dismantling the bootroom, Moores holding the club back with his greed, selling to H and G who leveraged the club at the banks, FSG having to pick up the pieces and managers who could not quite get to grips with the massive mountain they had to climb to try get the club back to the top.

The club is to blame for falling behind but I at this point I do see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Let's face it people, the club has been through turbulent times since we last won the title.

This season is what it is. Too much inconsistency. Far too many draws. City have left everyone behind this season. We need to work on finishing top 4 and getting as far as possible in the CL.

Keep the faith.

Spot on, Max. The recent historyof the club is globally accurate as you describe it. I just feel that some people think we are better than we actually are which is wrong. The "We are Liverpool" brigade is not helping the situation. The "We should be challenging for this or that or We don't wanna be like Arsenal getting top 4 every season" narrative beggars belief. Anyone with an ounce can see how bang average we have been as a club for the past 25 years and still people this pathetic self-entitled attitude that even City don't even have.

Mistakes have been made from top to bottom for 27 years and if people think Klopp will just fix all these ills. they are dreaming. It is not Klopp or the owners fault as to why we have not won the PL since 1990. The owners have made mistakes BUT they are doing the right thing globally and Klopp is trying to rebuild us from the shambles the previous regime left behind. The draws do my head in as well as the inconsistencies.

Regardless, Klopp and the owners have taken us forward in two years from where we were where I could not tell you if we would beat Norwich at Anfield. Cos he has not won the PL or a trophy fast enough for some, does not change that. We need to be consistent at being good cos the potential is there for all to see. Up Da Pool!

Klopp "If I'm here for 4 years we will win at least one title"

Problem is it's not just City that are leaving us behind. We have drawn and lost more games in the league than we have won. We are currently 7th and 7 points off Chelsea and Utd (who we are more than happy to criticise) we are now also behind Arsenal (who we say are a spent force) yet if anyone slightly criticises any of the players (unless it's Mignolet or Milner that's allowed) or question a Klopp decision then they are accused of not being a proper fan and moaners. On our day we can be sensational but seven 1-0 wins are better than one 7-0 win. I think every football fan in the world regardless of their knowledge know our problems, it's our keeper, defence, set piece defending, too many many midfielders unable to play a penetrating pass and our consistency. These have been our weakness's for years including when Klopp took over and those weakness's have not been rectified still.

{Ed001's Note - you do realise we haven't played this weekend yet right? That our defence has conceded just 4 goals in the last 8 Prem games? But I suppose that doesn't count for you does it? People only see what they want to see when it suits them to see it. Why don't you wait and see before whining about being 7 points behind? We could be 4, 6 or 7 in a few hours and then you can have something reasonable to say.}

I also agree with what you say Max. We seem to have lurched from one crisis to another over the last 20 years. To be honest, I think it quite amazing considering our relatively poor trophy haul over the 20 years (a few notable exceptions such as Istanbul) that we are still globally in the top 10 biggest clubs - albeit probably 9th or 10th.

Klopp is the best manager we could have at this moment in time, I have no doubt. And from a selfish point of view, I love watching us play again. We aren't consistent, that is true, but with a bit more time and hard work we may just get there.

@Jayden

"These have been our weakness's for years including when Klopp took over and those weakness's have not been rectified still. "

So you expected Klopp to walk in and win the League? Irrespective of what Klopp has said and done, we are in a far better situation than we were when Rafa left us, Roy taking over and Rodgers flashing the cash all over the show.

It is not Klopp's fault that the club has not won the League over the last 27 years. Blame wants to be laid at his feet and what for.

We have no divine right to be called champions unless we can win the title. You support LFC because you love the club. You support the club through thick and thin irrespective of the failings. That is what a true supporter/ fan is about.

I am happy to give Klopp time to achieve the plan he has set out.

people keep on moaning about Klopp. Who the f*** should the club employ to replace them? Fact is that you will just get these fans say that it is the clubs job to replace Klopp. WITH WHO?

Firstly I always think there's been a big cloud over the club since what happened on April 15th 1989 that we never really recovered from, as a club or a big red family.
The first thing we need to do is Stop selling our best players.
Suarez, Torres, Masch, Alonso, Sterling. probably Coutinho next!?
No matter what you think of these players, they all go to top clubs and start winning massive trophies, our problem is we want innocent Choir boys who are die hard Liverpool fans that never want to leave for trophies or money. Doesn't work like that you pay the best to be the best, half the Madrid fans HATE Ronaldo and boo him. Still win Chmapions Leagues for fun.

Max where have I said I expected Klopp to walk in and win the league or it was his fault for us not winning the league in 27 years. I clearly said if anyone questioned him and pointed out that our weakness's were there before he came and are still there now. I'm a big fan of Klopps and I believe he is the right man for us but it doesn't mean he cannot be questioned for his decisions. Perhaps you should read comments properly before replying as that will save you a few minutes of your life writing an argument that wasn't even there in the first place.

That is correct. Klopp took over two decades of this clubs failings. And you expected what from him for just being over two years in charge irrespective of what he has said and done?

He is slowly but surely fixing things. Rome was not built in one day.

what two decades of failure are u guys taking about. till 2008 we were the number 1 team in europe under rafa and after that we started to go downhill. yes Rafa dis not win us the prem but made us a treat to anyone in Cl. if we had better owners at that time we might have won the prem. so please stop making Kloop what he is not, yes we got 4th last year but bare in mind kloop does have the support of better owners.

No, Jayden said these have been "our weaknesses for years". Not 2 decades.
It is not 2 decades that we've had a problem with goalkeepers, it's since Reina left.
It's not 2 decades since we could defend including set pieces it's since Hyypia left.
It's not 2 decades since we've had a midfielder who can play penetrating passes, it's since Gerrard left

Where are the replacements for Reina, Gerrard and Hyypia? Karius, Matip and Oxlade Chamberlain? Those key positions have not been addressed by Klopp.

Everyone referring back to the times we had Reina Gerrard hyppia etc. but yet we still didn’t win a league. Was probably easier back then aswell as it was before the crazy boom of tv money. Now we have likes of palace spending 25million on a player.

We had a bad start to the season defensively, but last 10-15 games it’s been okay since the spurs game. If we didn’t have that start we’d be comfortably in top 4. There’s still half a season to go. A defender in January and there’s no reason to not look to continue the run of keeping it solid at the back.

12.) 17 Dec 2017
17 Dec 2017 12:33:29
Max like I said I like Klopp and as an attacking force on our day we are unrivalled. However Klopps blind faith to Mignolet and some of the defence/ midfield is hurting us. We spent £48 mill on 2 subs for the season when everyone knows we needed a keeper and centre half. Even though we didn't sign them we have Gomez and Karius/ Ward who could have been given games there this season.

Despite the problems you mention we’ve had a bloody good shot at winning the PL on a few occasions
Under Roy Evans, Rafa and most recently Rodgers
In that time we have won silverware including the CL but we would all agree that the holy grail of the title is what we really want.
I don’t really think we are too far away from mounting a serious challenge once more.

If and when herr Klopp adds a decent CB to the squad and another CM then we should see that challenge materialise
Put it this way it could be worse
At least we we are not being subjected to anti football like that lot from Manchester.
