Sturridge is not injured, but not in the match day squad. Apparently he wants to go to Seville, hence not being in contention for tonight.

I hope he gets to move, ideally to a less physical and warmer climate, it may suit him.

Personally I think releasing Sturridge for a loan leaves us short up front in back up to RF.

I know he wants to find a WC place and get regular game time and my view may seem selfish but the club should come first and we’ve been paying him a good wage for a number of years, he has a contract and should play his role in our season left to play with a reassessment in the summer.

In the summer I would grant him the move if he wants it.

{Ed001's Note - whereas I think we would be better off using a kid than him unless he is going to play regularly, as he will never be useful as a bit part. Let the lad go.}

If he does go, hope it works out for him. Always felt bad really as he seems to be made of glass :C and doesn't look to be in jurgen's plans. Hope he rips it up in Espana!

Question is can solanke and ings step up if sturridge leaves? No way can firmino play every game for the rest of the season, the way he plays. Solanke badly needs a goal, I think we'll see a different player when he finally gets it.

I'd be gutted to see him go, just going on the past though unfortunately. I know it's the best thing for himself and for the club. I'm sure he'd do well over at Sevilla.

Best of both worlds. Shame to see it happen but it's been kinda overdue. I agree that solanke needs a goal and once that happens I won't be worried about our lack of striking depth.
