With the end of January approaching fast I'm concerned that no one else will come in to replace coutinho
After the summer saga the club must have known they would be back for him and we had more than enough time to source a replacement
Yet we are now in a situation where we are entering a crucial time with fixtures coming thick and fast and not replacing a massive player for us.
I think JK is a class act but naive to think we can compete without a replacement.

I agree we need to replace Coutinho but you don’t think the team that beat Manchester City can compete?

I can't agree enough Clee. What are we doing at all?
Bob Paisley. Sold Keegan, Bought Kenny, need I say more?

The team that beat Man City but looked utterly toothless against Swansea, you’re only as good as your last game.

We are well placed in the league and face favourable teams in the cups for progression but we need to mix it up and not replacing coutinho may cost us.

Spot on, Dennis. That is the way football is and people need to understand that and stop acting like it is an exact science. It is not.

Also, Cou cannot be replaced like for like and definitely not in Jan so asking for the impossible will get us nowhere, IMO. If we do get someone, it will be who Klopp wants and thinks can help us and that player may not be a like for like replacement for Cou esp. if you agree that we tried to get Naby in this month and a Cou replacement like for like, he is not.

If we don't get someone, it would mean that there was NO one there TO get that would fit the way Klopp plays cos stop gaps and bandaids are non starters, per Klopp and that is the way it should be, IMO.

Why sell him in January if we can't bring in someone else we are in a great position and playing great football, im not buying into your theory there no one to replace him
The club didn't decide to sell him in the first week in January, it was decided months ago and there's been more than enough time to bring someone in.

Plus ed 2 has been telling us for about 2 years the club was aware of the situation. Let alone we had all summer and until now to address it yet we appear to have failed miserably.

It was a stupid decision to sell Coutinho in this window.
He could've gone this summer. 7 days left to sign a player as good as him or we've Blown top 4 imo
Probably end up Costing us millions in revenue and without champions league no decent players will join anyway.
7 days Reds spend the damn money n secure this top 4.

Brover you are missing the point. Klopp has identified the targets it is now up to the owners and the people they employ to do the deal.

BRover obviously none of us want the club to get someone klopp doesn't want. But our argument is they've had plenty of time to plan for it and it seems at the moment that despite some 'interest' in some players the plan is not to replace at all.

Maybe we will see them cave and just offer the big money everyone is going to be asking for any player we are interested in after selling a player for £142mill.

Do you think Barcelona gave Liverpool 142 million £ in cash in one go? They are paying 120 million euros over 4 year installments, and 40 million euros in add ons, most of which will happen if Coutinho plays 100 games for them, he could easily play 90 and then get sold to f. eks Chelsea or Manchester City for the same amount Barcelona would've then paid for him (135 million euros) . In 3 years time i see those fees being completely normal. Anyway, clubs are aware of this and know we don't have 142 million £ from Coutinho's sale or whatever, they are overpriced for all teams, Arsenal were after Lemar for ages and in my opinion bid the 100 million euros because they knew that would ruin our chances of getting him. (As they were fully aware he was interested in joining Liverpool at the time) That why Lemar is valued as highly as he is, nothing to do with Coutinho. VVD would have cost Manchester City 69 million euros in transfer fees, Liverpool paid/ will pay 79 million euros to Southampton, the price is higher because of the tapping up and the complaint to the FA and the embarrassment of going back for him after the official statement of removing all interest. That's why he cost us more, again nothing to do with Coutinho.

Exactly jordz. No other top side would sell their best player of the last few seasons and not replace him. We are left with a midfield that is not good enough to make to top 4. Whether the front 3 can compensate for that remains to be seen.

Legendary no I don’t but the manager of a few top premier league teams have said themselves have been saying the market dictates the prices. Coutinho deal was part of that market. Do you think Barcelona would of paid 142 mill (however it’s structured) for coutinho if they hadn’t sold neymar for what they did? Would Liverpool of payed thetop price for VVD if we didn’t know there was a high chance of selling coutinho for what we did? Guess we will never know for sure but I’d expect any business to think about that sort of thing.

Indirectly it’s all played it’s part along with tv deals. The prices being negioated wouldn’t be happening if it wasn’t for the deals such as neymar and now coutinho in my opinion. These prices are already normal for players with a certain reputation.

Personally tho I’d like Lemar if we can’t afford him then the club should still of had an attempted replacement that we can afford.

It's games where the teams sit back, organise well and defend and look to scrape a goal knowing we are still liable at the back. Was couts in the past who came up with some magic usually to get us a goal and open things up. That said we have enough quality in the front 3 they need to try and fill the gap. Our MF could use some creativity definitely though. Gini isn't playing in the same role he was at Newcastle, Can i feel could have more goals but is played a lot in DM given hendo is out and hendo is struggling with injuries. I can't remember the exact poster but they highlighted these 3 only have 3 goals which is frustrating you'd like your MF to chip in more! and we know we are still shaky at the back but these are clear problems which you would hope we can solve. I never like thinking things are over till that last minute like the instabul final, but it looks like the prem title is maybe out of reach now. So hopefully we can push on in the cups and finish top 4. If we can sort out our defence and add more goals and creativity in MF. Definitely could content. Frustrating to keep waiting but i feel we are in a decent position!

Bang on Mark, I have said it before, that Liverpool as a club makes so many basic errors each and every season, that's its a very difficult task to win the Premiership, we mess up some way, again, we are on the edge, of finishing 4th or 5th, so any mess up will cost us big time .
yes Couts had to go, but please, bring in his replacement, we messed up when Sterling left, the only real winger we had at that time, got about 50 million, yet never replaced like for like, when the suarez left, we got big money, yet brought in poor players .

Makes me laugh how some of you are talking like the transfer window is already over. Last minute deals do happen or have some of you never heard of that? for the record I don't believe we will get anybody else BUT we don't know do we? it is what it is, if we don't get anybody else in, it's out of our control, we continue and we support the club through thick and thin, we just have to get on with it.

We beat Man City 4-3 so it shows how capable we are even without Coutinho, we had an off day the other day and yes it was a terrible result but this happens, chill out, it's football, go support another sport if you can't handle us losing a bloody game.

If we go and sign a Coutinho replacement this month, for 10 million none of you will be happy, you want a 90+ million signing, leave it out. It's starting to get pretty pathetic now, forget the money, trust the club, trust Klopp. I do. Think of the TEAM we have now since Klopp came in, call him what you want, he's built/ building a team here. It really makes me laugh, all this talk, half of it is because we lost against Swansea lol get over it.

All this bickering back and forth over nothing. 3 sunmer windows for klopp to have his ssquad, or at least to judgr him properly. We can play the couldv or shouldv game all we wwant, but some of ya still act like liverpool can just walk up to anyone and get any player we want when we want it. We have started to show that we are getting our targeted players.

Mark, the owners don't do a damn thing and are not involved in who we sign and who we let go. Klopp and his team along with Michael Edwards are those who handle that. The owners don't do a thing so stop mentioning them. It is becoming tired and infuriating hearing the same pathetic talking point as if FSG actually sign players.
