Ed01 Just wondering who you think should start RB against Southampton, Trent or Joe?

Yes Joe is better defensively but against these teams which will sit deep against us I think we need someone like Trent who is better going forward. Both are better than Clyne and I really hope they fulfill their potential.

But Trent for me belongs at centre midfield where he can use is excellent range of passing and set piece skills. Joe I hope will get a chance at centre back with Van Dijk before the end of the season and give Klopp something to think about before buying in another centre back.

{Ed001's Note - I like having Gomez there as it gives the flexibility to play as a back 3 when we get the ball and guard against a counter.}

Both great, but both very raw. Sometimes they cock up but you expect that from a young player.
Positioning of Gomez needs tweaking at times, and TTA needs to stop the cross more for me.
Can only imagine how good these 2 young players would develop to be if they were in a proper top back 4.

Not sure what you mean with a proper top back 4 LiverpoolFC8.

At man City both these player will have to play as wing backs?

It has got nothing to do with TAA and Gomez playing with the best. As it is, they have been featuring alongside Matip, Klavan and Lovren and yet they have proven to be miles ahead of Clyne so not sure what you are trying to get at.

Nobody in our squad is going to be there to wipe a youngsters behind. You have to get onto the pitch and earn your place irrespective of any team mate.

Are you suggesting that Gomez and TAA will be selected first choice by Guardiola in their current squad when he spent 100's of millians on attacking fullbacks?

Trent and Gomez have earned a place in the starting eleven for LFC. That is that.

Good point ed01 and cyklopps. I fully feel that gomez and Vvd are the future of lfc's central defence. There is a slight issue with rb as gomez's future is at cb a and Taa's future is in midfield, I could even see him playing wide in that front three but midfield seems to be his destiny. So that leaves Clyne who I don't think is as bad as he is made out sometimes but still not good enough to be our number 1 rb. I think lb is sorted now. Robertson is great Imo and will only get better, his distribution was pretty poor against spurs but generally he has a wicked left footed cross. Moreno is getting better too and between the 2 of them I think our lb is sorted. People, including me, worry about our gk position but I think we need to give Karius a decent run, I really think he can make that position his.

For those who knock klopp for not addressing the cb situation. He has signed 3 cbs that I can think of. One is the most expensive defender in the world who I think IS the messiah. He signed klavan, who took a while to settle but started to look really good before Xmas. And, he signed Joel matip on a free too. He can be lazy and lackadaisical but he has also had some very good games.

He has addressed the gk situation. He signed Karius. He bought in manninger to help him and be is starting to come good.

I don't understand the fans who are burning flags on anfield Rd. We have spent hundreds of millions and got some very very good players. I didn't think klopp would do much in January. He likes to get signings done early so they can integrate with the squad in time for the new season, getting someone mid season can disrupt the squad. I for one am glad klopp didn't spend the pc money rashly. It is hard enough to sign class players in the summer months let alone in the three weeks after pc left. I'm hoping for Lemar, I also like Serious, when he has a good game his is very good.

Keita And Vvd have signed when a lot of people doubted it. I never lost faith.
