Hi eds.

I'd just to ask your opinion on Mane at the minute. He seems like he's been off form recently. What do you make of his performances the past few months?

Cheers lads.

{Ed001's Note - I think he is just struggling because he was injured and then nothing was going for him so he is low in confidence. That is why, imo, Klopp let him play the full 90 yesterday so he could hopefully get the goal he needs.}

Agreed Ed, you can see the whole team is trying to find Mane whenever there is a goal scoring opportunity. Mane himself just needs to believe in himself, stop hesitating and start taking on shots earlier.

he is still a threat to the opposition just by being on the pitch, as long as he continues to work hard and does not sulk he will be fine, I fully expect him to beat last seasons goal tally, he is a quality player capable of the sort of brilliance we saw against burnley and man city, he just needs to relax when in front of goal.

He is trying too hard imo, needs to focus on the team game and goals will flow for him again. Salah and firmino proved twice that teamwork will get you easy goals. He needs to stop looking for the holywood goals on the top corner and get back to basics. There were at least two opporunities in the second half when he could have slotted a team mate in for an easy goal but dawdled on the ball and wasted the opportunity.

It will come but he just needs a good hug and a few words from klopp.

One game soon it will all just click back into place for him and he will get a good goal run going.

I agree with you, It's a coming. As a former CF, when I was not scoring, I just focused on having a good game all round as in, making myself available for the team, trying to assist and help the team defensively or in midfield, all for the cause and with that, my confidence would come back even if I did not score. That is what Mane should do now, IMO. If he keeps doing that as it seems he is doing now, the goals will come and he will be back to the Mane we all know and love. The guy is still a threat even on an "off day".

He's scored a few lately though and it doesn't seem to affect him, he looks short of confidence but goals aren't brining it back?!

I think normal service will probably resume next season. He certainly hasn't had the best of luck this season. I think that red card that he got and no-one else does has affected him. He is at least not hiding and just needs a goal of the type that Sterling is given every week.

Everything he hit went in last season. Clearly suffering in confidence.
