Is anyone else absolutely buzzing for us playing Champions League (proper) again tomorrow for the first time since about 2008/ 09?

I know we've been in the group stages a couple if times since then (once under Rafa and once under Dalglish) but the group stages just are not the same no matter what anyone says! Games against Lyon, Ludogorets, Basel, Maribor, Spartak etc. The only really big European opposition we've had this decade have been Real Madrid and Rodgers deliberately threw the game!

Tomorrow night, we are back baby! A proper slugging fest over two legs! The biggest club in Portugal and former Champions league winners, Porto! I absolutely cannot wait for this. I'm like a kid before Christmas! Like a dog before a walk! Like a girl before Valentines day!

COME ON LIVERPOOL!

Should add as well that i meant in the CL only in terms of big European opposition.

Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Napoli and Man United in the Europa league were all pretty Special too, but it just feels different in the top competition. More special!

I find not letting mates know is a great laugh come Thursday.

I'm so pumped for this and so glad it's a beatable opponent as well - can't shake the feeling that if we had drawn someone like PSG we'd have been out like a light, but with the confidence of survive a knockout round we'll have a reasonable (if slim) chance against anyone! First things first though, Karius and VVD have to start paying attention 10 minutes before the game and only start switching off 10 minutes after the final whistle. If they do, they'll drag everyone else along with them at the back and our front lads will do the damage.

1 day of the year I'm not gutted to be single. I can watch all the poor casanovas heading out for dinner when all they wanna do is get stuck into ucl. I share mks sentiments, I am buzzing for the game. Someone suggested Southampton was the bigger and more important game, that just sounds silly now.

Porto are no pushover, I don't know much about them atm but they are always there or there abouts. Portugal are the Kings of Europe too. I fancy a 2 0, 2 1 to us on the first leg, mane will score a screamer and his confidence will come flooding back, right in time to steer lfc to a ucl title.
