Message for Ed01, just wanted to say thank you for all the articles you put up, I always find them very interesting, well put together and unbiased which I appreciate, can be difficult. I was wondering, as an idea, is there a sub site that you could upload them to in PDF to enable us to download them. I personally travel back to the UK from Malta pretty much monthly so being able to sit on the plane without WiFi and go through all that you've written would be great, I'm sure there's others that would find it handy also.
Thanks for the excellent work mate, it's much appreciated.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know about another site I could do that, but I can certainly ask Ed033 if he could make that possible. I had never considered there being a possibility anyone would want to do that, but, as you have asked, I will have a word with him and see what we can do.}

Thanks a lot ed, I know I certainly would download every one and then whether I'm in WiFi or not, I can read them in my own time then.

{Ed001's Note - it is nice to know anyone would want to being perfectly honest.}

Agree with WelshScouse Ed. The articles you write are easily amongst the best I read.

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much joe. I really do appreciate that.}

That's a fantastic idea if this could be done. I'd see a lot of people downloading them and I definitely would, I'd make a library of them on my computer.

I don't think you give yourself enough credit at times Ed1 mate, your articles are THE best I have ever read on the internet.

{Ed001's Note - that is high praise, thank you. Well unless these are the only ones you have ever read on the internet!}

Ha ha! not at all Ed mate, I have read tons but none seem to be anywhere near as detailed as yours, you have a passion for writing which shows, the majority of people don't so throw stuff together without knowing about what they're writing about. It's a pet hate of mine.

{Ed001's Note - mine too to be honest. I spend weeks preparing my articles and read hundreds of others to prepare. Most of them I find extremely disappointing and badly written. Far too many are lazy, just copy and pastes from wiki etc. I just don't understand it, do people not have pride in their work any more?

I once read a tip by an author, who said the only way he can finish his books is to never proofread them afterwards. He used to find that he was such a perfectionist that he would rewrite everything he read back to make it better, over and over. I am the same so I have taken that tip and never read them back so I don't just constantly keep rewriting them. It is because I have pride in what I do and would never be satisfied with them. When I was speaking to a few journalists and article writers on LinkedIn a few months back, they were totally the opposite. They didn't read them back because they felt their work was already pretty much spot on. I find that odd, especially as, imo, they produce crap for clickbait, rather than well written and thought out articles. The kind of stuff that I would be ashamed to churn out.}

This is the only good football site out there at the moment. All credit to the Eds and posters.

{Ed001's Note - seriously speaking there are some other good ones out there. Thesefootballtimes I will always recommend as it does not do clickbait or anything like that. It just covers stories from footballing history. Some really interesting stories, though the quality of the writing can be variable.}

Yeah that's it mate, too many click bait websites out there and then they will have the nerve to share the article via social media to increase views lol (another pet hate of mine) it makes my blood boil at times especially when some of them have clearly not researched their topic and get facts wrong.

Your article yesterday about top 10 attacking midfielders, guaranteed if we was to google that we'd find numerous websites who have created such content by going on fifa and seeing who has the best rating lol it's pathetic and then there's the other ones who will do a slide show of different players and have literally a sentence or two about the player, most of the time, as you say copied and pasted from places such as wiki with a couple of words added.

The majority of so called 'writers' have no idea what the hell they are doing. These kind of writers will probably do a few articles in the morning alone, no thought, no research put into them.

At least with you we are getting an in depth, well thought out, well researched article that actually teaches us things we didn't know, or for me at least. This time last year I wouldn't of known a quarter of what I know now due to your articles so I thank you for that.

{Ed001's Note - I hate those picture articles, they are really frustrating as they add nothing of any consequences at all with the sentence underneath.

I just think 'would I want to read this?' If not I wouldn't write it or post it, no matter how many views it would get.

Oh and the fact checking really annoys me, as I am a pedant and always have been. I can't abide mistakes and hate it when I make them, so I will always want to see any fact I put down backed up by at least 3 separate sources. Otherwise I will say who has said it and put it as a quote or similar way to show it is probably an opinion rather than a fact.}

Thankfully your not about the quantity of views and are about quality of content. We're lucky to have such articles to read mate. Thanks again and have a great day!

{Ed001's Note - odd because I always get told that I am doing it wrong by not chasing page views!}

They say in the digital marketing jargon, that best results are obtained by "superior content" which then results with "organic growth". I've been on here for 7-8 years now (maybe longer, am not sure at all), but that's exactly what has happened. Have seen these pages expand with all the participation and the options and offerings. So it's no surprise with the succes you have had (I know you will say you did not benefit financially from it, as you may have wished, but that too could come with time) .

{Ed001's Note - so long as I can pay my bills and put food on the table that will do mate. Be nice to have money to spare and enough to pay the editors to work full time, but it is what it is and I would rather enjoy what I do than be rich and hate it.}

Have to agree mate one of the biggest reasons I log on is to read the great articles and the great thing is no that a few others have followed Ed001 lead and started posting some top articles as well
I know I in line but im so looking forward to read the article on the great Ac milan team led by capello.
Thanks to all especially Ed001 who take their time to really make the stuff posted worth reading.
