Any chance that the derby will be postponed? Think its pretty unfair that we get 2 days rest and they get 3.

That's just making up excuses in advance. Maybe they want the Manchester derby moved to Sunday so they get more rest in between the first leg and the biggest game of their league season; the one where they can lift the title at the Etihad by beating the Red half of Manchester.

We between both legs, each team has 7 days rest and only 1 game in between. You can't exactly use travel issues as an excuse because although we have 3 games in 8 days, two of them are in Liverpool and the other is in Manchester.

Hopefully they win the league on the Saturday, party all weekend and turn up on the 10th for the second leg half cut.

The other way of looking at it is they have 3 hard games in 8 days, and we are playing a team still not safe from relegation.

Let's not make excuses lads. It's 270 minutes of football in 8 days for both teams and Everton Don't exactly make us work hard when they're letting us have 85% possession.

We get an extra before Everton, they get one after the Manc derby.

Both teams have a derby so both have difficult fixtures in between the CL legs, City will be desperate to beat United, especially if they can win the title.

MK - I don't think Pep cares where he wins the title. Maybe he would prefer v Man U to win the title but he doesn't really care. I think he will rest his main players before the second leg. The Champions league is most important to Pep now. These games are some of City's most important games ever.

I think we will have to rest players v Everton as well. Surely that is what having a squad is all about. If Ings, Lallana, etc aren't good enough to play v Everton there is no point them being at the club.

Case by case basis with rotation and tiredness for us at worst.
We can't really rest players unless they're drained.

They're professional athletes who are fit individuals so they can easily play 3 high octane matches in 8 days with lots of rests in between, don't forget they have highly trained medical staff, nutritionists and fitness coaches guiding them, plus there has been plenty of deserved rest during the season already, so no need to worry much about resting players now near the end of the season, they will just taper back the training sessions to suit.

Having worked with a couple of pro athletes (boxers) a few years back myself I can almost 100% guarantee the players won't want to be rested for any of these games unless hurt or literally exhausted.

I'm sorry, are we getting our excuses in early here? Play who you play, when you play them and get on with it.

I agree they won't want to be rested and the other points you mentioned, but Henderson can't play 3 games and neither can firmino. 2 of our most important players.

They can, I'm not very fit myself at the moment and could do it, these are pro athletes so no excuses.
