Cracking read that Adam. Enjoyed it. You make some great points and I for one am gladly eating humble pie over him. I think the word "remarkable" improvement on going from scoring 2 goals last season to 3 this season is a little OTT mind. But he's scored some crackers this season and long may he continue to improve. He will have his work cut out next season what with Kieta and supposedly 1 more coming in but I believe he will continue to feature there next season as well as covering for the front 3 has he's done a few times this season.

I've figured this out now, MK is Ed1's clone! lol great read MK mate, I think the majority of us didn't expect much from Ox, if anything so for him to come here and hit the ground running I'm excited about him, especially for next season with some better quality in the squad.

He has everything we want at Liverpool, from quality on the pitch to his professionalism and all round seems like a really nice lad. I moaned about him signing, I also did about Robertson but I'm delighted Klopps in the job and not me, he knows who he's signing so in the future I'll just keep my gob shut and let him get on with his job lol again a great read MK, keep them coming mate.

{Ed001's Note - don't insult the poor lad like that!}

I like the ox. But has he really been that great for us? Obviously scored 2 good goals against city this year but I don't think he's been that brilliant over the season.

Great read Adam. Think we all expected far less than what we’ve got. Delighted for him and indeed for us and pointing out that interview was a wonderful reminder of just how big a man he is. Looking forward to the next read.

Cheers lads. Thanks for reading.

Jayden, I was on about the goal to minutes ratio. Shaving 300 minutes off your goal to minute ratio is no small feat! I do see your point though when you look at it as an isolated statistic of 2 goals to 3 goals. If you incude is Champions League tally though it from 3 goals in nearly 2000 minutes last year, to 5 goals in just over 1500 minutes this year. Stats need context to be relevant. He can definitely improve further though, and I'm sure that will be the lads aim!

It's small margins at the top of the game. Adding 2 additional goals in the main competitions is a big deal when you only had 3 the year before. He only needs one more in our last 7 or 8 games to double his combined PL and CL tally. I'd back him to do it!

Livered personally I don't think this is about saying Ox has been brilliant over the season because I agree he's not been. This is more to do with when we signed him I think there was more people against than for. But he has already exceeded expectations for me. Loads of room for improvement but you cannot fault his attitude or bet against him continuing to improve.

Mk agree mate stats can be manipulated but as you said Ox played half the games last season as a wingback so I wouldn't expect his goal tally to be high. One thing I do know is I thought he was average every time I saw him play for Arsenal or England but every game I've watched him play for us especially recently he has impressed me and long may that continue.

Great post mk. The only thing I disagree with is when you put arsenal winning 2nd rate trophies. I wish we had won some 2nd rate trophies.
Other than that dude really good read.

Blimey Marco! You have been reading a long, long time! Glad you remember my old stuff though.

Fair point Jayden, but i'd say wing backs can score just as many as midfielders. Moses and Alonso must score way more than Kante and Bakayoko.

Cheers Hendos brother.

I know what you mean mad max. I'd love to win a few trophies too. However, not at the expense of progression like Arsenal under Wenger. They have stagnated under Wenger and winning cups lately has kept him in the job even though they are now further away from a title challenge than they have been in 2 decades! Agree though. I'd take a League cup after all of our baron years!

Mk youve just named 2 non scoring dm against the highest scoring wingback out there lol. We could go at this all day 😉. Like I said earlier though cracking article and I look forward to reading more of your work.

It's nice to read an Ox love in because I've always been a fan. I was a tiny bit sceptical when he signed because I wasn't sure what Klopp had in mind for him, now I see and I like it. I think there is one line in your article which sums it up perfectly - 'it is funny how the success of your team can change public opinion on you as an individual'. He's not done too much differently, just done it in a different area of the pitch, so the goals etc all come with the territory, literally and figuratively.

As another fan who loves a yet I'm delighted with hire this signing has turned out and he's rapidly becoming one of my favourite posters at the club.

I do think there's something holding him back though at the moment and that's his final ball. He's excellent on the ball but he needs to learn when to release it and improve his attacking passing. Too many times he tries to release forwards but can't find them. If he can improve that aspect of his game then he'll cement his place in our starting eleven.
