I doubt it very much. Just doesn't fit the club's strategy in recruiting, age wise. I recall only one player being bought in the same age range, and that was Rickie Lambert. And I don't see the club ever being interested in buying someone without a sell-on value.

If his contract ends this summer then we should definitely look to sign him. He’s a quality CB and imo we’d have one of if not the best defence in the league if we signed him. Those two with Gomez and Lovren as back up sounds good to me!

Thought it was this summer hence the orginal post I'm sure there will be a big Q for him and those boring ones down the motorway you know Maureens team will probably offer a huge weekly wage to improve there back line.

Saying that Id like to see us put our hat in the ring him and VVD would be immense then Matip can go.
