What do people make of how Gomez and his lack of concentration again today


He is so highly regarded on this page

He has cause at least 5 goals this season if top my head just frustrating


I hope he proves me wrong but I don't see it at the moment.

The kid is young and needs time to progress but if things don't start getting better next season there is the sad possibility we will have a Titus Bramble on our hands.
Let's hope he kicks on next season and shows us his true quality.

It is something he needs to work on and remove from his game - the regularity of the lapses are a huge concern - perhaps he needs a season on loan getting regular football at centre back to aid his development? I don't think he ever looks entirely comfortable in the fullback position.

He's very casual with his defending. It has become a regular occurrence with him. It drives me nuts.

Thought both full backstreet awful today an caused a lot of unrest at the back. Having said that it's a game we should of definitely won.

I think some of you are forgetting he is only 20 plus he's only just come back from injury. It takes time for some players to develop how WE want them to develop, he's got it there, sure he makes mistakes but he's still very young, mistakes will help him overall.

Gomez has got massive potential and needs support not ridiculing. Sending him out on loan is not a good idea imo, we need to persevere with him, I think it'll be worth it in the long run.

Perhaps people on this page need to stop over hyping players! I saw nothing of him to suggest he could play at CB. Klopp might need to buy a defender in the summer! I have no confidence in Gomez for the next season. He is positionally awful. Another Solanke in the making!

At this stage I just think we should just go ahead and release every player we have under the age of 21 on a free, since "fans" aren't willing to give them a chance.

We're raving about Wilson, but based on what we're saying about Gomez and Solanke, not to mention Alexander-Arnold before the City match, we'll probably end up tearing strips off him and calling him a Championship player if he has a bad game here and there (as tends to happen with young players, it's why 17 year olds usually don't go straight into the first team) . Why not just save some time and rip up his contract now so he can go somewhere where the fans might give him a chance? Ditto Woodburn, Ojo and Brewster.

Gomez made a mistake today and I have no problem with people discussing it, but comparing him to Bramble and saying there's nothing about him that suggests he can play CB (but then again, that's probably just Harry trying to be a contrarian) is just bashing for the sake of bashing.

He's generally had a good season, and it was only 3 weeks ago we were practically quaking over not having him available for the Man City match. But that's all undone over 90 minutes today and he can't play, is it lads? Not even 90 minutes actually. About 10, because he I thought he played well for most of the game, practically all their attacks were coming down the other side.

It's quite sad how easy people will hang a young player, who has had his fair share of great games for us, out to dry.

Players learn through experience, they do not stay with the same ability forever!

If Salah has a dip next season, is he going to be the next one we call to sell? (I don't expect fans to go to this level, but I recall some posters mentioning "Mane was a one season wonder" after his slight dip at the start of the season)

This is crazy. Yes Gomez and TAA have made several mistakes over the season which have directly led to goals but if Clyne had not been injured he'd have made plenty more. Plus the difference is Gomez and TAA will learn from those and go on to be fantastic players for us.

Both players are moving in the right direction and it'll take many more mistakes until they get there.

Carra was the same. I couldn't believe how he got in the team in his early days but I was proved very, very wrong.

It's not a crazy question when as player falls asleep very often age doesn't matter with that

If he is lfcs future centre half he needs to up his game and effort stop been casual and focus more or he isn't good enough he has a opportunity of a life time and needs to up his game a lot and make klopp think he isn't good enough or we will end up with another centre half coming in and taken his place

So buck up and work hard.

People forget some mistakes are costly these days. 2 points dropped could cost a team a place in next season CL. Don’t compare the situation from 10 years ago! If Harry Wilson is sent out in loan why not Gomez? We should have purchased a RB last summer and let Gomez go out for a loan like Christiansen did at Chelsea!
