Absolutely ordered hendo around Jayden.

Klaven was getting annoyed but he just does not have the same game intelligence as vvd.

I think vvd needs the authority and should be captain.

sometimes I wish Hendo would just put a crunching tackle in when we are under the cosh and just gee everyone up, when we are under pressure you can just feel we are going to concede a goal he doesnt
give the impression of a Captain who is capable of getting the troops together and getting through the bad times in a match
say what you want about Gerrard off the pitch (not his biggest fan personally) but on the pitch he delivered a performance as captain when we most needed it time and time again.

Interesting Ravi, I ran a poll on twitter regarding what to do re captaincy and the majority of people chose the make Van Dijk captain this summer option. Other options were 'keep Henderson captain', 'make Van Dijk captain at a later date' and 'make Van Dijk vice captain'. So you're not the only one who has that point of view. I don't think Henderson can be relied upon due to his increasing injury proneness and very patchy form since the injury, so I'd at a minimum want to see Van Dijk made vice captain this summer, in view to making him captain soon enough. I'm wary of stripping players of the captaincy as it could upset the dressing room, and it's likely the player stripped of the armband would want to leave imo, so such a change has to be managed carefully.

Sami Hyypia was stripped of the captaincy in favour of Gerrard and didn’t leave. He continued to play at z good level. Sometimes the time for change is obvious and I think that time is next season. Mainly due to the fact that Hendo’a games will probably reduce year by year due to his injury issues.

Even if we don’t sign another holding / playmaker midfielder, I can see Wijnaldum getting more games than Hendo next season.

Not all captaincy changes go as smoothly as Hyypia to Gerrard though. I remember Emmy’s Hughes replacing Tommy Smith as skipper and The Anfield Iron was far from pleased, especially as he had a dislike if Hughes as a person.

Van Dijk would be a shocking choice. He is no leader. Leaders take charge. Van Dijk passes the buck.

If Hendo lost it, I'd give it to Lovren, Arnold, Chamberlain, Salah or Firmino; all ahead of Van Dijk!

Firminho is a great shout though.
None of the others you have mentioned are first team definitely starters and a captain should be the first name on the sheet surely?

Hendo as captain is always going to spark a debate isn't it lol me personally, I think he deserves another season as captain at least. His fitness has been his biggest issues BUT should we ever look to change things I'd personally look more towards TAA and Chamberlain before VVD.

not for me Supersalah off the pitch he is class but on the pitch for me personally he just doesn't do enough vocally or as a player commanding the midfield taking games by the scruff of the neck

I think Virgil is a great shout for captain for 3 reasons. Hendo is a good skipper but VvD could be great. It is a very important detail if you get the right guy in the role.
1. Hendo isn’t always available.
2. Virgil is planned to be a key part of LFC for the next 5 years +
3. I think it could improve VvD’s personal game as he would feel more responsible.
