hi ed. with jorginho a high target. i can't see him joining over mancs/ barca/ RM. do we have an alterative for that role? or will klopp stick with miln. hendo and splash elsewhere. id rather AM CB or GK for £60m.

{Ed001's Note - sorry what? He is a target for the Manchester clubs, we are after Ceballos.}

Cabellos would be a fantastic signing. Hope we land him!

In addition to Ceballos Ed. Will we still be looking to go for Fekir also?

{Ed001's Note - why am I having to answer these questions over and over? It has been dealt with repeatedly. Keita, a deep lying mid (Ceballos) and a replacement(ish) for Coutinho (a Fekir or similar) are the ones being sought.}

Ceballos or Jorginho?
Simple answer - Jorginho.

{Ed001's Note - you will always choose whoever is not going to join Liverpool because you always hate on everything to do with the club.}

Ed do we no at this stage is (A) Madrid are willing to sell him and (B) if the player has any interest in joining us.

I am just thinking with him being our primary target surely the player is aware by now?

{Ed001's Note - (A) they need to offload a number of players to fund a rebuild, he is one of them that is considered expendable. (B) yes he does.}

Ed001, could you maybe give me an idea of how you think Klopp sees the midfield lining up next season? It would seem to me Klopp almost wants 3 box to box with everyone sharing responsibility for both attacking and defending. The reason I say this is because on paper you would argue we need a deeper lying midfielder maybe not even a dedicated DM, but Keita isn't a DM and neither is Cabellos and you could argue none of our existing midfielders really fit the mould either.

To summarise, could you explain how you see the chemistry of the midfield next season based on our current crop, incomings and targets?

{Ed001's Note - Ceballos is seen as a deep lying midfielder, to take over the Henderson role.}

But I like Kieta and Fekir Ed01 😁. I have seen Jorginho at least 30 times last season and he is level above any other deep lying playmakers. Ceballos is a kid! Nothing to do likes or dislikes! Ceballos is like a Grujic! A lot of hype and that’s all!

{Ed001's Note - no Jorginho is a lot of hype and not a lot else, there has been little to no hype around Ceballos, so how on earth can he be a lot of hype? He is also nothing like Grujic at all.}

Nice response, Ed. Harry, Jorginho is off to City or Utd so there is that. On another note Ed, I have not seen Ceballos play cos well, he does not play a lot for RM. Can you pls, give a brief assessment on his ability and if he fits in how we play, IYO? Cheers, man.

{Ed001's Note - I haven't seen enough of him to really judge him properly, only short bits here and there as a sub. Looks to have a nice touch but that is about all I really got from it.}

Could we agree to disagree to here mate .
Jorginho is no hype! I watch Napoli and completely understand why clubs are after him! He is a very good player who will improve anyone’s midfield. His attributes and vast amount of experience would be a great addition to our midfield. He is a fine passer of the ball.

Ceballos is nothing like Jorginho in fact they are different. Ceballos is very young and he is no Deep lying playmaker. In fact he is no playmaker in the first place. He is more like Lallana.

Comparisons with Grujic is in the context ( a lot of hype on a very young player ) .

I am happy with Keita and Fekir. They are simply world class! I will play Hendo with them! He is 10 times better than Ceballos

Cheers.

Ed, a few times you've mentioned phasing Hendo out due to his injuries. I'm just wondering if this is a matter of opinion or if you have been told something specific?

I kinda hope that Henderson will be given the chance to prove his fitness and will be out Captain for the next 5 years.

{Ed001's Note - it is not opinion, you have seen this season he has to be managed. The club are not yet looking to push him out of the door, just ensure he is not forced to play 3 games in a week. It is highly unlikely he will ever return to full fitness now.}

Would it be fair to say hendo will be job sharing with Ceballos next season? Provided it’s him we actually buy anyway.
Then Keita will be playing with Fekir (or similar) slightly ahead with the likes of Milner and the Ox rotating as and when.

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

Cheers for your reply and info on Ceballos Ed. Much appreciated mate. Our Midfield area should be much stronger next season.

{Ed001's Note - welcome, Keita on his own is a big boost to be fair.}

Let's be honest, that's mouthwatering.

{Ed001's Note - just to point out, as someone else dealt with Harry's nonsense, there has been no hype around Ceballos, he is, as usual, talking crap. Barely no one on here knew his name before he was linked with us. Since then all the questions have been along the lines of 'who is he?' 'what does he play like?' etc, rather than 'wow, I hope we sign him' as there has been NO HYPE.}

I’ll be backing Ceballos as I trust Klopp and the scouting department. Just curious though, why would he be expendable if RM are rebuilding? Seems like they should be getting rid of older players on higher wages? Though I suppose developing youth isn’t the RM way.

{Ed001's Note - they need to raise cash to buy stars, that is the Madrid way.}

14.) 11 May 2018
11 May 2018 19:30:51
It doesn’t matter if he was linked today or 6 months before. I simply don’t rate him above Jorginho! That’s just my take on the comparison between two players! There is no need you should rate everyone we are linked with!

{Ed001's Note - oh I give up. Waste of time commenting on your posts.}

Harry Jorginho wants to move to city it’s his first choice.

I only want players that want to play for the club I think that is a big part of why we have got to cl final.

I’d be delighted if we finished summer with Keita, Fekir, ceballos. Would be a major upgrade on our current midfield.

I am amazed that people judge young players so extensively, I struggle to see how much people can have seen of Ceballos to make such an opinion. he was impressive enough to go to Madrid last season. In this case you have to back the scouts to identify the correct type of players Klopp wants.

Jorginho is a good player, although I personally don't see the right fit for ourselves - his future lies elsewhere. I personally would sign Ndidi if possible, although a slight change tactically may be necessary.

17.) 11 May 2018
11 May 2018 21:06:10
He was very well thought of before moving to Madrid. And could play anywhere in midfield when he was with Betis.

18.) 12 May 2018
12 May 2018 00:46:24
Jorginho would bring much needed stability to our team (especially the midfield) . He would fill Hendo's role perfectly and I would go as far as to say he would be as valuable as Xabi Alonso was for the club.

19.) 12 May 2018
12 May 2018 02:18:31
Ben,

Grujic and Markovic were well thought off before making their move to Liverpool! It simply doesn’t work like that! Ceballos might be a good player, but I would want a finished product and a better pedigree for that role! Ceballos is like a Lallana. He isn’t a deep midfielder and his biggest fault is that he doesn’t release the ball quick enough when there is an option. Check with any Madrid supporter!

Ed would Maddison be a suitable replacement for Coutinho according the the powers at be at Liverpool?

{Ed001's Note - he is not first choice by any means.}
