I don't see a way back for Karius at Liverpool now, which is unfortunate as he seems like a genuinely nice guy.

I do however hope that in 4 or 5 years there's a piece on the BBC website that goes something along the lines of "From Champions League zero to Bundesliga Hero" as Karius goes from strength to strength and uses this disappointment to become better and stronger than he ever was.

I don't think he can do that at Liverpool now, it'll follow him too much. But I wish him all the best and hope he proves everyone wrong.

He'll prove everybody wrong, as a Liverpool player in my opinion. I do understand what everybody is saying, I get it but I think there's more to come from the lad.

Keepers generally peak in their late 20s early 30s. He’ll come back, but not at Liverpool. Another case of the Brad Friedels.

If and it's a big If, Karius starts in goal next season and pulls off a couple of good saves and clean sheets early season and the team are winning then it will all be forgotten about. However When he makes his next mistake it will all be dragged up again. Us fans are fickle and if he and the team perform there will be a way back. If it causes him a mental block then he may never recover. I wish the lad all the luck in the future be it with us or at another team.

Anyone think the flying elbow rattled him a minute before?

Every time he throws the ball out, opposition fans will be cheering and jeering.
He’ll have to leave the premier league in my opinion.

He needs a free transfer back to Germany.

Karuis showed a gradual increase in form after being made first choice in January and I thought he had it cracked, but his form faltered around the Roma matches. I've always been a fan of his style in terms of his willingness to fly of his line and put his body on the firing line. And I had no problem with the occasional error caused by him doing that because I reckon the number of extra goals and chances he'd prevent over a more 'traditional' goalkeeper will outweigh what he concedes.

But losing the flight of shots as he did last night and in both legs against Roma is a pretty serious deficiency in his game, and the worry I have now is that, like Mignolet, no matter how good his form is, he's always liable to make a massive error like that. And then they in turn will set his confidence and form back.

As I said, I like the guy and I feel bad for wanting to chuck him under the bus after what's likely going to be the worst experience of his professional career, but I just don't see how we can carry an error-prone goalie anymore. Between Migs and Karius, we've been doing it for five years.

Is Butland, who seems to be the target, the answer? I don't know. I've made it clear on average day I don't think he's any better, but he may make fewer obvious errors (even though he also tossed one into his own goal this season) .

I just think he's a weak link currently and needs addressing if we are to have a chance of ever winning anything.

Folks he is good enough full stop he's only number one coz the other clown migs is even worse. Both have made mistakes all season you seem to be forgetting this.
I just really hope the powers that be don't think Butland is the answer.

Degea wudnt make them mistakes nor would cortouis oblak or any other top keeper we need a confident established stopper, we need too stop the silly merry go round of keepers an sort this out. I know macca mentioned butland but he is not the answer from what I have seen unless anyone can tell me a valid reason why he is, if we do get him I hope I am wrong I jus feel it's same hopeful signing rather than established safe pair of hands.
