Been wondering this for a while but not sure how many honest answers I would actually get, I was wondering how many contributers to this site actually have 'connections' at Liverpool FC or perhaps just footballing connections in general?

You get the odd poster on here who is clearly bullshiting but I wonder if any of the regulars are 'ITK'.

Funnily enough I have recently gained a few connections in the world of football but not really anything to brag about and certainly not related to Liverpool.

Hope to find out that MKS is actually Joe Cole's cousin!

I played football for a team now in the conference through my teens. They were semi professional back then, so no professional contract was offered and I decided a different career path, now a pharmacist. If only I’d stayed, they are now well backed by Dr Abdulla Al-Humaidi and are rolling in cash. A few teammates now play in league football. I still talk to them, and I know a few coaches and one ex-England international (called up, never capped) . Don’t get any information as you’d expect.

Being a former pro myself I keep in contact with absolutely no one. On a serious note edd 1 and 2 have contacts and I believe tomato squares is the brother of Joe gomez. Apologies if incorrect but I think I am correct.

Couple of players from my boys team went on to play professionally, not in the prem though and I don't see em much these days.

I think mks just knows his football, he's a shrewd tactician and would probably be brilliant as liverpool manager!

Ed01, ed02 and macca definitely have some inside info and carragold knows his stuff.

I think I've spoken for everybody, I'm off to meet Angela murcall.

You say the odd poster is bullshitting?
I'd say the odd poster is genuine. Most indulge in speculation, and over a transfer window there's a good few who clearly just invent stuff. Then that causes aggro for the poor Eds who do a damned fine job and can do without it.

Childhood friend who I used to play football with and lived on the same street as me went on to play in the Premier League and have a decent international career, although he was a few years older than me and has recently retired but now does a fair bit of punditry on tv.

I have no inside info whatsoever and I doubt many on here do. I’m not even on here to find out about possible transfers I just like chatting footy and sharing opinions.

I’ve never pretended to be ITK, because I’m not ITK, never have been or ever will be ITK, just love this site, that’s all folks.

Oh, may I add I have no inside knowledge and wouldn't want it any other way. Love it when Ed2 confirms our interest in a player or Macca appears out of nowhere.

I have no inside information at all, even though I am related to Zidane. He doesn't speak to anyone in the family since we all got Materazzi tattooed on our bums for banter. He didn't take it well at all.

A friends husband works for the club very high up (don’t get any decent exclusive info from them so don’t ask)
Another friend used to go out with a famous ex player, also still knows several other ex players very well.
I get to meet current and ex players and managers through my job, Sterling, Reina. Macmanaman, rush and dalglish being memerable.
Get to meet current and ex players and managers for other clubs as well, again through Work, Ronaldinho, Messi, Ronaldo, Cannavaro, Rooney and fat sam being the biggest names.
Got to meet Abi Clancy once as well 😍
Showing off now 😁.

I have no connections whatsoever to Liverpool sadly. I used to watch a lot of Irish premier league matches with the old chairman of bray wanderers before it all went terribly wrong with the club.

I played in the youth Bundesliga and for a Bundesliga reserve team but no connections Liverpool related.

Im normally just posting stuff when it’s Bundesliga related as i just know where to look for reliable infos and British media get stuff wrong when it comes do Bundesliga players most of the time. :D.

Bit of both, connections and ex-players who are on friendly terms. Not in the know though, most of them speculate as much as people on here 🤝.

I used to play semi pro football for Scarborough and have two friends that work at hull city, one as a coach and one as a physio.
I’m itk on a few hull transfers but that’s as far as it goes.
As for Liverpool I just use Macca and the Ed’s.

My contacts are sadly now passed away. My grandfather was best friends with Sir Alf Ramsey. I remember once asking him to manage my five a side team but he politely turned me down.

My grandfather used to get free tickets for every Wembley game including our European Cup win in 1978!

No connections at the club. Know a couple coaches/ ex players around semi pro and soccer schools, mainly goalkeeping coaches, (who seem to all know each other around the game) . Get very few bits worth repeating from them, from what I've heard Pope is reasonably well thought of, Kasper Schmeichel thinks he's better than his old man (apparently everyone laughs at that one) . Also get a few bits from ITK people at a lower level south London club but zero use to LFC supporters.

Don Mcalistair who played for Spurs, moved into a resort complex in Queensland and used to be good for a chat, mostly about the good old days when he played alongside Hoddle, Villa and Ardiles. He was still in touch with Ardiles. I went to school with a lad called Rhys Wilmot, very good rugby player but wisely chose soccer and kept goal for Arsenal, mainly as backup but good stopper. Think he ended up in plymouth but no longer in touch so no info there-bugger.

@adam.
Ronaldo is a nice fella, quite friendly, the whole universe revolves around him though, he was with Nani at the time and he may as well of been invisible. Lol
Messi was really young, maybe 20-22 So can’t really remember much other than that he was quite shy and timid.
Ronaldinho had this Star like quality to him, like an aura, I was so star struck I didn’t even say hello.
Rooney is a strange one, completely unlike what you expect, really shy and quiet, if you met him you would think he was a really nice fella, he was going red just talking to me he was that shy.
Pepe Reina probably has more personality than all the other players I’ve met put together.

@MKS I had a feeling you would know 😉 as far as I last heard he was happy. In part due to certain pressures put on him and former teammates that go beyond the football pitch but also due to certain players almost being bullies in the way they would dictate to the rest of the team (particularly the younger players would get this treatment) . I cannot go into more detail unfortunately (not on a public forum anyways) .

The last time I saw said player he was back 'home' and we was in the barber shop. He actually paid for everyones haircut in the shop which was nice.

The only thing I have heard for certain at his current location is that the players are 'encouraged' to go with certain 'advisors' for the good of their careers. Again i cannot go into more details at this time unfortunately.

No worries Bennett.

Nice to hear a story of a local lad giving back though. He clearly didn't forget where he came from.

I won't press you for anymore details as it sounds like a couple of tricky subjects!

I have lots of connections at Barnet FC! Fat lot of good that is but still. I also still occasionally swap a text with Jason Puncheon (Crystal Palace) and Albert Adomah (Aston Villa) . Puncheon used to get sent to me for punishemnt duties (he was a right gobby tit back then and isn't much better now) . And I helped save Adomah's career after he did something very stupid after the 2008 Christmas Party. I was also there with Bolasie but he never chatted with anyone, his cousin had told him Barnet was a great springboard so just put your head down and work so he did exactly that. I get no privileged info from any of them, although Adomah did send me tickets when Villa played Brighton in his first year there which was nice of him.

(Just to be clear, I don't play or coach. For a few years I owned the company that provided catering services to Barnets stadium and training grounds, and got to know some of them whilst working there)
