Question for the posters, would you displace Hendo from the team with who we've brought in and the assumption that a Coutinho like replacement is coming? (not Keita Ed002, you set me straight on that) . I'm a big hendo fan, think we play better and more passionate with him on the pitch. Curious to see what others think.

Not an easy one to answer. After a slow recovery from injury his form and leadership has been great. I saw this posted:

Of the 690 minutes England played at World Cup 2018, Jordan Henderson was on the pitch for 482 of them.
England didn't trail for a single second in that time. Of the 208 minutes Henderson wasn't playing, they were behind for 136 of them.
I know stats can be deceiving, just sayin.

Back to the question: It all depends who else comes in. I'm not sure I'd like to see a completely new midfield 3 start the season. How many times have we seen big overhauls of a starting 11 only to see them struggle for a while. I'd be tempted to go with Hendo, Keita and Fabinho, assuming the latter adjusts to our playing style early enough. It wouldn't surprise me to see Milner start and new players rotated for a while.

I reckon it will be horses for courses especially in the first part of the season with a fair bit of rotation, couple of things i hope for is that Klopp chooses his best CB pairing and sticks with it and that with a stronger squad substitutions are made earlier in games and actually have a positive impact.

If we want to avoid fatigue and injuries at the business end of the season, we need to play “the squad game”.
Regular rotation in outfield positions is key. 👍.

Fitness permitting the regular starters will be Hendo, Keita, Fabinho, AOC and a new no.8. each of those will start around 60% of our games. Milner and Lallana, if they stay, will be back ups.

Assuming we make some headway in some cup, and get out the group stages in the CL, we wil play over 5500 minutes of football. Everyone will play plenty.

I guess we will have to see how form and injuries play out. We have suffered without Hendo previously, maybe now with Fabinho we can rest a little easier. Whilst Hendo isn’t as mobile as he once was, I would still love to see him making foward runs in his previous box to box role. Even when he doesn’t receive the ball it causes so much panic in oppos defence and creates for our forwards to wreck havoc. He is so aware of the players around him as well his little lay offs in foward areas are brilliant. Second only to Bobby and Lallana in our team at present (when Lallana on it anyway)

I guess my question is, when you part your strongest team on the field for the big games, is Hendo a sure starter? He is for me. Agree with the rotation posts, especially for a midfield expected to do the amount of running Klopp requires.

Against someone like Arsenal or Spurs who will come out and play? Yes he is vital. Against someone like United who will sit deep as they can manage and try and hit us on the break? He may well sit. Tactical options, I know we're not used to them but we have to start thinking of them.
