Just looked a few posts talking about numbers on shirts?
Tbh does it matter what’s on the back of it?
Your playing for the club and the crest on the front and that’s all that should matter should it not .
I played decent level Saturday football as a forward and never worried about the number it’s not like you can see it lol .
Question fro the Ed’s or you all are players really that fussed about there numbers?
And what are the point in them anyway as we no who they are and where they play as do the fa
Marketing?

{Ed001's Note - some find a certain number lucky. Other than that it makes little difference.}

If I was good enough and played for Liverpool I would want the number 10 shirt as that’s the number John Barnes wore when I was a kid. I don’t see any problem with a player wanting to wear a particular number.

I think the number thing doesn't really matter, people. just thought in their heads that Fekir was going to be number 10. As soon as Mane was assigned that number, people have assumed that the Fekir deal is done.

The good news is that Fekir is number 18 for Lyon and France, so I'm guessing that would be his preferred number.

I like 69 but not because of any sports.

It's purely due to marketing/ brand. See CR7 as example.

I think its either about the players who wore the shirt before or players you idolize. Let's not kid ourselves and say it means nothing to us because I guarantee that if, for example, Markovic had requested the no. 8 shirt, he probably wouldn't have got it, which says the number means something to the club, and if he did get it then.
