With three weeks left of the transfer window there is a lot that can happen but, as of today, out starting midfield is Hendo, Fabinho and Keita with Lallana, Milner and Wiji as back ups.

With rumours of Wiji moving on I'm wondering if people think this is enough? Mane and Shaqiri can play deeper but neither are natural midfielders and I'm not convinced any of our youth players are knocking on the door this season.

Obviously there's conflicting stories about Fekir but I think we could do with one more player of the right one is available.

I think it’s a big more flexible than that. With this current squad, Klopp can line up 4-3-3 and go either Fabinho, Hendo, Keita for a more defensive/ neutral setup, or he can go 4-2-3-1 and put Hendo and Keita behind Mane, Firmino, Salah, with Solanke upfront for a much more attacking lineup against defensive sides like Wolverhampton, Fulham and Man Utd ;)

Fekir would be excellent addition and probably would mean one of Lallana, Gini or Milner moving on, but we certainly don’t need him the way we did before Shaqiri and Keita joined.

Spot on, SGRed. Flexibility is the Klopp way of playing hence, formations do not and have never mattered to him. In one game, we can line up in a 4-3-3 BUT it can change to a 4-4-2, 3-4-3 (if Gomez plays RB), or a 4-2-2-2, a 4-4-2 diamond, all depending on the personnel and goings-on in-game. With the players we have now, we are even MORE flexible than before and that will only bode well for us esp. vs the parked buses. I would love Fekir myself BUT if we don't get him (which I think we will), I'm still cool with what we have done this summer cos we have addressed two KEY areas in the first team as in GK and midfield.

I wonder if Klopp agrees that, that is our starting midfield or front line as of today. Either way exciting times ahead and lovely to see us with strength in depth.
