Hi Edds do you think Liverpool missed a trick with anyone that HAS moved this window. In that a player we SHOULD sign but has gone elsewhere. sos in advance if already asked.

{Ed001's Note - not that I can think of.}

Thanks for the reply. Who out of the signings do you see as having the biggest impact? As a window as a whole do you think its been tame?

{Ed001's Note - Alisson.

No, it has just been made into a shambles by the idiocy of Premier League clubs voting to shorten their own window because they are too stupid to see that they are making the issues they complain about worse by doing so.}

I wouldn't call it missing a trick but I think Gelson Martins would have been excellent in our team, at least from what I have seen. Not sure on what he is like as a person off the pitch.

What was the actual reason behind the shorter window ed?

{Ed002's Note - There was a proposal to end the transfer window before the start of the season and more than the required 70 percent of PL sides agreed.}

I just think we missed a trick in general with not signing a quality player too rotate amongst the front 3, cos we are still light there if injuries, sturridge is injury prone and in my eyes unreliable but if he could stay fit is genuine quality, solanke is raw, origi seems too have all the attributes but shot off confidence, shaqiri I like but he is better used deeper . Taking into account these options we basically have same prob as last year, same could be said of defence couple of injuries an we exposed . The club need too take into account the amount of games we will b playing and there will be injuries, the business we have done is great but we still short off a flexible attacker and a central defender.

Ed001, I think you and Ed002 have both talked up Andriy Lunin - the young keeper who chose to join Real Madrid.

Roma have done some good business. Ante Coric could be one who develops into a special player there.

Arsenal have signed a good one in Torreira but you would make a case for Fabinho being a better player.

Despite what Mr Mourinho thinks we cannot sign everyone :)

{Ed001's Note - he is extremely highly rated and we were very interested. Might prove to be a loss in the long term, but I am over the moon with Alisson.}

Oh I think we're all swooning over Alisson Becker!

Forgot to mention Lenglet being a good one for Barcelona and Odriozola to Real as well. Good signings.

We have klopp.

That's the biggest thing.

If we signed Lunin then we would of need Alison anyway for the at least the next few years.

We have a keeper who is superb now n9t in 4 or 5 years.

A keeper also has a huge life span. If Lunin comes good then real are sorted for the very long term and where else would Alison go go play. It's in our best interests for Lunin to become a worldy.

{Ed002's Note - What are you talking about?}

We tried to sign Lunin before Alison.

Surely Lunin wasn't coming as number 1, and would of needed some time so we probably would of needed a number 1 now aswel.

Maybe that would of been Alison. Who wanted real Madrid.

The fact that Lunin has gone there to under study navas means that in a few years If Lunin becomes there number 1, then they won't be in the market for gk and who would want Alison and be able to afford him from us other than them that we would sell to? So just saying that Lunin could help us keep Alison for a very long time rather than just a few years.

Imo, the best signings in our league are

Alisson
Keita
Jorginio
Mahrez
Fred
Fabhino

Have City even signed anyone? Apart from mahrez. I thought pep might sell sterling. After that world Cup where raheem looked like someone who had won a competition, I guess it would be hard to find someone willing to pay 60/ 70 mil for someone who can't kick a football. Give me James milner ALL Day. He may be 32 but he's fitter than sterling. Cleverer, stronger and can strike the ball cleanly, as we saw in Dublin. What a goal! Sterling just scores tap ins by falling in the general direction of the ball!

I don't think we missed a trick with nabil fekir, oddly I think the alternative, shaqiri, is going to work out fine. Even better than fekir. There is a question mark over his attitude (which has been very good so far) but he has a bit of magic, like coutinio had and salah has got. They're all different but all have a touch of wizardry to their play. He knows how to get over the line, and is one of few who have won league titles and champions league titles too.

I think if he gets real fit, Klopp fit. (Look how much weight the Ox lost) And listens to Klopp, I think his technical ability will demand that he plays. I think he will feature in every match. If he starts, great. If he comes on for 30 minutes, that's great. I think he could turn out to be the best buy of them all. Controversial I know. Definitely the most decorated of them. Don't get me wrong, I think keita will be a revelation this year. Fernandinio will be eating his dust.

Alisson looks a class act already, we have to give him time to settle but he is awesome. I haven't felt like this about a keeper since Bruce.

Fabhino looks solid already. His play will be under estimated by the motd clip watchers (those who think Henderson is rubbish! ) but I really like him. I would not want to play against fab. Imagine trying to attack liverpool. You've got keita snapping at your heals and fabhino, big, in front of you. If you get past him then you have van diike to deal with, followed by the world's most expensive (and confident) goal keeper.

But I see wonder goals for shaqiri. And million dollar passes. Look at the three he has in front of him! He is going to create space for the 3 musketeers. I bet shaq gets over 20 assists this year. And 10 goals, well 5 to 10.

{Ed025's Note - i stopped reading when you preferred milner to stirling robbie, i like milner dont get me wrong but as an attacking threat james is a non entity, stirling is not the finished article by any means and poor in the finishing department...but he craps all over milner as a footballer mate..

Can't agree with that. Sterling runs fast, then falls over. He spends half the game on his arsepart looking at the referee, hoping to curry favour from him.
Milner brings more to the table, not least in being able to cover several positions and stay on his feet when he gets the ball.

Doesn't Milner hold some record in the champions league?

Sterling couldn't hit a barn door 😂😂 he's absolutely terrible. Literally just fast. He only ever taps the ball in the net. Kicks like a girl. No power in his feet. Can't cross. Trully trully awful.
