Great transfer window, I am feeling really pumped for the season. To take on City of course we need to concede less but I feel we need to score at least 20 goals more. After the turn of the year we conceded 14 goals in 17 games but still dropped far too many points.

In 2013 - 2014 SAS scored 53 league goals no penalties and last season the front 3 scored 58 goals. I think they will and they have to get to 70 goals between them this season. If they are the so called best front 3 in the world they need to prove it. I can't see Origi, Solanke adding much to the number of league goals. In addition the midfield must score more goals especially with no Coutinho and OX. I think Shaqiri and Keita will both get 8-10 goals each. Hopefully Gini will turn up for a few more games and get his share as well. I don't see many goals in the rest of the midfield.

I think the team needs to start beating the so called bus parking teams more this year and stop conceding silly goals leading to lost leads, so better game management.
Goals are not everything, you can technically win the league unbeaten with maximum points by scoring just 38 goals.

Klopp kept bringing on cbs to make a back 3 and we always looked worse when that happened. Without fail.

Also if studge can contribute 10 and keita 7 or 8, we are laughing.

If Alison can also concede ever 5 less it will bring extra points.

When was the last time we conceded a silly goal that cost us the lead?
Van Dijk signing virtually put a stopper on that, I can't think of too many occasions after he came that we shot ourselves in the foot.

Let’s just remember that most of the 25 (? ) point gap appeared in the first half of the season, without VVD.

In the second half we were not far behind at all, especially if you consider that we took our foot off the gas in the last few games to concentrate on the CL.

Alisson and Keita are definite first 11 improvers, Fabinho - we’ll if he isn’t an improvement on Hendo he is at least and improvement on Can so giving us more strength in depth. Shaqiri, as someone said above, gives us an attacking option rather than a defensive one for the last 20 mins.

If we don’t win the league this season I cannot see there being more than 3-6 points in it.

I still think we’ll win 👍.

Spot on, Drogie. Sun will be a very tough game. As for how we can creep up on City this season, all the points made here are valid. HOWEVER, there is one more point that we need to address: Losing points from winning positions. That has been our bane since Klopp arrived. We dropped between 14 to 18 points from winning positions last season. City only dropped 3 I think. We won't be creeping up on City if we keep doing that.

Now, Some of it may be down to us becoming a back 5 when we are winning and then we wilt under pressure cos we are not built to sustain it incessantly. The issue is in midfield where we need to keep the ball better and Klopp has addressed that issue with Fab and Naby. Either way, we MUST improve here.
