Our run of tough matches will be the kick start we need this season. I feel we have been too casual in three of our four games so having to up our game for the whole 90 mins to beat the likes of spurs, Chelsea, PSG etc will get our front 3 especially back to their fluent best.

Salah and Ron and others, do you agree?

Bring it on I say!

Dude. The last time we had a start like this we just got results for the first few months. December hit we tonked spurs 5-0 And then went to within a whisker of the championship.

1. We had a squad half of what we have now.

2. We have a manager who has won the title before.

3. We have more than one superior level player. When the time comes we have the keeper who will bail us out. Vvd has had those matches all ready. Salah isn't firing well mane will step to it. Fabinho wants time to settle then wij will hold the fort.

I don't want to jinx a thing but there is something brewing.

I have never felt this confident.

1jj good post mate, I think we'll annihilate the lot of them personally mate. Some people may think I'm being far TOO confident but I genuinely do believe we can beat anybody with this team. We've been playing average yet still getting the results.

I think once we come up against the top teams we'll really turn it on and show people what we are capable of, not that we need to because I think we did that enough last season but this season with the new additions we'll thrive mate.

I don't expect us to go and win every single game but I do truly believe we'll win the league and not only just by a bit, I think we'll smash it.

It's been years since I've been this confident about a Liverpool squad but these lads are capable. I think the biggest problem these days is, we were out of the limelight for far too long and there's so many big named teams now like Spurs, Chelsea, PSG, Barca, RM, City etc etc and we automatically assume we aren't up there with them but we are! We're one of the best teams in Europe with this squad. They can't touch us on our day, bring whoever comes on because they'll get the shock of their lives, no team is wanting to play Liverpool right now, why? because we're capable of embarrassing them.

Believe lads because the good times are coming :) .

I definitely agree that it will focus the minds of the payers a bit more. They’ve had a nice gentle start to the season, shaken off a bit of ring rust, picked up maximum points and now it’s time to shine.
The front 3 have moved brilliantly and the understanding is still there. Mane has started well, Bobby is improving and Mo could click at any time. I have noticed Mo is being heavily marked so far but I expect that to be less of an issue once he’s up to speed. You can’t mark what you can’t see 😄

I don’t think we’ll hammer all those teams, I think we’ll do a professional job on them. We may drop some points but we’ll be very tough to beat with VVD and Alisson 👍.

Good man salah, hope your recovery is coming along!

How different the tone here would be if it was migs or karius that done that yesterday.

Did anyone hear the NBCSN coverage yesterday? I thought I heard Robbie Earl (spelling) say that he thought Liverpool would prioritize the premier league and Man City would prioritize the Champions League. Did I hear that correctly? I can't imagine Pep or Klopp sacrificing either.

{Ed002's Note - That is based upon the priorities of the owners. It doesn’t mean that the clubs, like all others, won’t try to win every game.}

Neither Klopp nor Pep will prioritize one major competition over another. We will see weakened lineups fielded for the Carabao Cup but neither manager will have preferences for the league or UCL. Both competitions are huge and clubs like LFC and MCFC should be looking to win such competitions on a regular basis, not consider them as afterthoughts.

{Ed001's Note - Pep will 100% prioritise the Champs League this season. He was not brought to City to win the Prem, his remit is to deliver the Champions League. That is the prize the owners want.}

Oh tough luck for Pep and City because Liverpool are going to win the Champions League this year.

Lol hanif, boom! there you go mate! now that's the attitude I like to see :) .

Walkon79 - if Migs or Karius had done the same thing it would probably have been after they'd already let a goal in and it would destroy their confidence so much that we'd have ended up at 2-2. From what I saw, Alisson just shrugged it off 👍.

I agree Johnny. Alisson has credit at the moment because he’s been near faultless so far this season and his blip ultimately didn’t cost us.
If he continues as he is and makes a couple of those mistakes a season I’m happy with that. The rest of his game oozes class we really do have a top keeper there. Finally!

Walkon79, Migs alone made THREE mistakes in this fixture last season so your point is moot. As someone who wanted Karius to succeed and I felt that he helped us a lot when he was made no. 1 in Jan, the fact of the matter is that Allison is light years ahead of Karius and Migs is well-inferior to Karius, which just shows the gulf in class btw he (Migs) and Alisson. His mistake does not disprove these facts. Now Did Alisson make a mistake? Yes. Should he do that mistake again? HECK NO! His next mistake should be a diff. type of mistake, NOT the same one as we saw Sat.

Ed001, don't you think Mane had 2-3 chances to run at their defence and instead slowed down the play for others to join in or hold ball? I thought this was different from the way he generally plays. Would love you hear your thoughts on this.

{Ed001's Note - they were not leaving themselves open for him to run at them, so he was trying to keep possession and the lead, I would say.}

Thanks again Ed. Don't know what we would do with you and the site.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate. He did have a difficult second half as he was often back covering Robbo, rather than sitting up top, it is not ideal for a player like him.}
