Read somewhere that 70% of people voted sadio as klopps best signing since he took over. Who would you pick as your top 3. I'll kick it off and also most improved player under klopp since he took over

1. Van dijk not here as long as the others but my god what an impact he has had on our team.

2. Salah not expecting the same numbers as last season and wasn't expecting the numbers he got last season either. Excellent signing at 36 million

3. Sadio. Prob not fair putting him in as number 3. What can I say about sadio. From day one he has just gave us so much more as a team with his pace, workrate and goals/ assists. Backing him to hit 30+ this season

Now most improved player under klopp. Has to be firmino. Always rated firmino even under Rodgers but he was so intelligent other players we had at the time were not making the right runs for him making his passes look average. Since klopp came in and put him up top he has transformed him into one of the best in the league. Could be more clinical at times but that's being picky but what he does add to the team more than makes up for it. Id have him instead of kane anyday of the week let's just say that. Over to you boys and girls.

{Ed025's Note - you are very much in the minority if you would have bobby over kane IR, bobby is very good dont get me wrong, but harry does the one thing every team needs which is regularly butting the ball in the net, take those red specs off mate and you may see what the rest of the footballing world does..

Haha was expecting some abuse ed025 mate. I was saying overall what he gives our team I think he is perfect for us mate especially with sadio and Salah either side. Agree 100% that kane will always outscore him. Haven't lost my marbles just yet.

{Ed025's Note - glad to hear it IR..im not so sure about me though mate.. :)

I think they are two different players to be fair. Kane puts the ball in the back of the net, Bobby can do that ( maybe not as often ), though Salah beat kane to that last season.

Bobby for me, is instrumental to our front three movement, he does stuff you don’t always see on the tv. Not only is he technically excellent, his work rate and tracking back is fantastic - plus he can score. I like Kane, top player but if I had to choose, it would be Bobby for me, particularly for our style of play.

I just can’t get away with Kane either Ed025, his lack of mobility / pace puts me off.
That World Cup semi was like having an aged Alan Shearer in the team, it was crying out for Rashford or Vardy for me?
Saying that, I’d like Firmino to be a yard or two quicker as well but as long as Kane keeps up his impressive strike rate, your argument always stands.

{Ed025's Note - CF is the hardest job in the game juicer, kane is far from perfect but he does know where the onion bag is which makes him top notch mate..

Interested to hear ed's that you think CF is the hardest job. I would've thought CB would be as it is harder to run backwards and clear the ball than forwards and knock the ball into a 12 yard gap? Not arguing just wondering?

{Ed025's Note - the simple fact is that CF,s cost the most for a reason reddo, without salah liverpool wont get as many points as with him, same with kane at spurs and aguero at city, CB is important of course but a 0-0 will only ever get you 1 point, its a team game tough and the spine is very important, keeper, CB, central mid and striker are all important to be successful, but the CF will always be the most important mate..

I would have Firmino over Kane at Liverpool every time. They play a very different game, but Kane very much relies on service and making sure that he can position himself around the box, whereas Firmino is the pivot where most of our attacks stem from. If we had Kane, it would be to the detriment to our system and the players we have bought to suit it.

{Ed001's Note - two seasons ago it would have been Kane without question, but now Bobby every time. Kane has become a glory hog, shooting from ridiculous angles and distances when there are much better options. He was detrimental to the team at times last season. Spurs would have finished 2nd ahead of United if they had the Kane of the season before.}

Totally agree Ed. You can tell in interviews and after the tribunal for that 'glance' that he is after nothing but the golden boot. Maybe he does believe Tottenham can win things but it is easy for him to be comfortable there, be the main man and get away with doing nothing but trying to score - hence the non existent assist stats for him, certainly in comparison to say Aguero, Firmino or Salah. I can see him staying at Tottenham, breaking Shearer's record, gaining personal acclaim and winning nothing. It's probably too late now Lukaku is there, but I think he's made for United personally. Moving away from the comfort zone at White Hart Lane would improve him and his game, which he needs to do in order to truly be considered world class in my opinion.

Will see how it works out but I just have the feeling that Kane is not at his best and this has been coming since the end of last season.

His World Cup performabces were not that good if you take away the penalties he scored.

Kane maybe one of the best number 9’s but he is not suited to LFC and how we play.

Bobby all day long is more valuable to us.

It's quite a scary though imagining Kane up front with firmino Salah, keita and mane behind him for us.

That would be insane. Simply insane.

The way i see it Ed025 is that Kane is one of the best strikers going but i wouldn't have him in our starting 11.

The reason being that our style of play with Firmino is one that focuses on the team as a unit, with all 3 of the forward players moving constantly in the knowledge that if one of them doesn’t score then someone else probably will.

While Kane is a master of sticking it in the onion bag he is very much a traditional striker. Spurs have some good players around him but not the same level of selfless, spread out goalscoring threat that liverpool have. Son and Eriksen may be good players but they are not equals with Kane; the aim of spurs game is to get the ball into Kane as much as possible and hope he does what he does best. Sometimes he will have an off day or miss a shed load of chances. Liverpool however have the responsibility spread out across the forward line and are not so easy to stop as a result.

The point being that i’d much rather have Firmino because while he may not get as many goals, his selflessness and link up play will mean the team does better as a whole. Kane may get more goals individually, but if you stick him in our starting 11 ahead of Firmino then he may get more goals than Bobby yes, but Salah and Mane only get around 10-15 goals each a season because the style of play completely changes. I think most teams are jealous of our unpredictable front 3 and i wouldn’t change it for anyone.

{Ed025's Note - i can see what you mean AW but kane for me makes liverpool even stronger, the supply to him from naby, sadio and mo would mean not only would harry get a sackful of goals but them 3 as well, bobby is good but i dont think you would miss him at all mate if harry was on the scene, but thats just my view..

For most improved player under Klopp, for me, would have to be Robertson. I don't see the high margin of improvement that many of the others have had as much as he has (and the majority of players have improved under Klopp) . Firmino has undoubtedly improved but his starting point was a much higher level than Robertson's.

Agree with Ed025, the supply for Kane outdoor be awesome from our boys.

Agreed ra, he's really surprised me since joining, full of energy, tries his hardest every time and it's showing. Kind of hard to believe we got him for the price we got him for! I was so judgemental of the lad as well before he came in lol now I've learn't to just trust the club in who we sign, they quite evidently know more then I do! :) .

Firmino over Kane for me too. Kane wouldn't be suited to our team right now, whereas Firmino is our engine, what he does on the pitch is nothing short of genius in my opinion. Great post Drogie, exactly my thoughts too mate.

For our team I would have Bobby over Kane.
For Spurs it would be Kane over Bobby.
Not a great comparison because they are completely different in playing style and what they bring to their respective teams, you couldn’t just swap them, they would need a new team built around them.

{Ed025's Note - kane would improve liverpool mikey, bobby would make spurs a poorer side if they were to swap i think thats obvious mate..

And for bonus points Bobby plays in a joyful manner and is a brilliant team player and he played his part in getting Alisson to come and he didn’t blink when Coutinho disappeared.

Apart from his dodgy driving what’s not to like?

He is going to be a LFC legend once we start picking up silverware.

{Ed025's Note - good player and a nice guy tommy, being over hyped to death on these pages i feel though mate..

So the golden boot winner 3 of the past 4 season's. And lost last year's by 2.

Or firmino.

Get those red tinted glasses off boys.

Kane would make us better.

But it's not saying firmino isn't ultra quality, in fact kanes about it along with aguero who could oust him.

That's not bad company at all considering he wasn't signed as a striker and those two have been doing it all their lives.

25, how are you fella?!?
You’re one of my favourite Ed’s and talk a lot of sense with un biase opinions but I have to disagree with you re Bobby. For me he’s underrated. As I mentioned above mate, it’s not just his technical skills but he’s work rate, link up play and has an eye for goal. For me, Bobby is key to the success of this liverpool team x.

{Ed025's Note - im a fan myself drogie and think he fits your system perfectly, but for me kane is the far better player and does what great forwards do...score goals, but imo bobby would not fit all systems and i think he needs liverpool probably more than they need him mate..

17.) 09 Sep 2018
09 Sep 2018 19:42:43
Sorry Ed025 I agree putting Firmino into spurs lineup will make them poorer but putting Kane into ours would make us poorer, he would get more goals than bobby but I would expect Mane and Salah to score half the goals they would otherwise score without Bobby. Kane would never do the leg work bobby puts in and is too selfish to pass to anyone unlike Bobby.
Not dissing Kane I think he’s a brilliant player but I wouldn’t swap him for Bobby.

{Ed025's Note - thats why its all abut opinions mikey mate..

09 Sep 2018 21:52:23
Hit the nail on the head 25 by saying Kane is a striker, Bobby is more than a striker. For me he’s technically better than Erikson and I’d have him ahead of Deli Ali.

{Ed025's Note - he is a striker drogie and bobby more a false 9 for me, great linkup player but could be a bit more prolific in my eyes mate..

Ed025, Harry would never do what bobby does which is to create for others. Harry is a striker! Bobby is a lot more than a striker. Bobby is our system where was Harry works in a system that is suited for him!
