That made a fantastic read, I know it's a big ask but is there any chance you could do this for every position Ed mate?

I'm thinking of different left wingers and to be honest I think you nailed it, there's quite a few out there though isn't there lol it's hard picking a top 10 but I think you're pretty spot on with that.

I'm glad you added Laxalt he seems underrated but he's a bloody good player, I must admit I've not seen him as much as I'd of wanted to but from what I have seen, I've been really impressed.

I agree on Hazard, the lad is incredible, if he was more consistent (usually he is) but if he played at his best every single game, he'd be one of the best in the world imo. He's a joy to watch, unless it's against Liverpool of course.

Obviously Mane, I agree on. If he continues his recent form I see him moving into that 1st spot this time next year! I see him been our player of the season.

Asensio, at only 22 years old (I think? ) and to be in this list just goes to show how quality he is, he's bloody class isn't he, imagine what he'll be like in a few years? he's a real exciting player that lad. If he plays more this season I see him going up to about 5th in that list! it'll be an interesting season for him.

Thanks for that Ed. I was a little surprised to see Sanchez on the list. it seems that his form has dropped off a bit.

{Ed001's Note - he was the best until it dropped off, imo. Loved him as a player since I first saw him as a kid playing for a Chile youth team. All because I got the Chile job on an old version of CM and just started taking an interest in them when I had time to spare before the sites became so busy.}

{Ed001's Note - I don't know if I would, those downtimes worry me as they seem to come when the team is struggling. I want to see him do more of what Mane did at the end of the season (which to be fair Hazard has done at the start of this season) and rise to the occasion, rather than fade away or sulk.}

I hear what you're saying, Ed. His issue is to do with attitude. All subjective, of course. I just think he's unstoppable when he's at it.

{Ed001's Note - agreed. If we were talking about any other team in the world I would take him in a heartbeat. However Liverpool is the one team that already has a front 3 in perfect sync that have no need of a change right now. I would not want to break that up to put in a player who might not fit as well as Mane does.}

Thanks for the list ed001, very good read. Not sure I agree on Hazard as number 1, he doesn't get the number of goals he should. Mane will get double his goals this season. Hazard though when he runs with the ball is a thing of beauty, no one can legally stop him.

Neymar should be number 1 as you say if he ever puts the teams before himself.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate. You could really move lots around and it would still make sense as a list. There are no players that stand out on their own right now on the left wing as the number one. I doubt Neymar will ever do so as he is such an arse and is being pandered to.}

Thanks Tris! Great read and also agree that the list could be shuffled around a lot and still easily justified but as it’ is now, I wouldn’t want to argue.

It’s just so sad that Neymars talent is just getting wasted. Has to be in line for bell end of the century award.

As I think you said, he should be streets ahead of the rest on the list if you did a list based on talent and potential.

Question for you Ed001. Since you choose Salah as your #2 right winger, and Mane as your #2 left winger, and since both play together, who do you think is the better overall player? It's a tough one but my opinion is that Mane is the better skilled player and Salah the better finisher. But I can't decide who I'd pick before the other, if I was forming a team.

{Ed001's Note - I really wouldn't want to choose, they play different roles in the team. Mane would probably be the choice though if I had to pick one. Possibly. Or Salah. Maybe. No I can't do it.}

Thanks for the reply ED001. LOL. You are in exactly the same place I am in, in terms of making a choice. I can't chose either. Tells you how vital they both are to this team. Even though it's not a failsafe indication, I hope Mane's new contact is resolved quickly and the papers are put away in the drawer. Just so that we can all breathe just a little easier.
