Imo Salahs goal against Everton was not as good as Bales against us so it's got me thinking, who else thinks they gave him that award because it was so close between him and Modric for Player of the Year? Gutted for him but I can see why Modric got it I guess. At least it went to someone other than Ronaldo and Messi.

The whole thing is a complete farce. Courtois was voted goalkeeper of the year yet wasn’t in the team of the year, Salah was on the top 3 shortlist for player of the year yet wasn’t in the team of the year. The whole thing is a big popularity contest and a bit of a joke really.

Great goal but nowhere near the wow factor of Bale or Ronaldo. at the ebd of the day it comes down to winning trophies. If yous would have won the CL salah would have hands down won the award. Awesome player btw.

Salah’s goal against Everton wasn’t even Salah’s best goal last season. The 2nd goal against Spurs at Anfield was an unbelievable goal!
I’d still give it to Bale though just because it was in the CL final and what a finish.

I wrote that before the team came out what a joke. So basically to get in the team you either have to play for Madrid or Barcelona or be very likely to sign to for one of them in the next summer window. Salah deserved the spot Hazard or Mbappe got easily.

Isn't each award the result of different votes, available to different groups? So it's perfectly possible that these results could happen. They don't all have to corroborate each other.

Team of the season was voted for by players and managers.

I think that the goal of the season that Salah won was open to the public and obviously hi-jacked by LFC fans (I didn't see any campaign on social media though) .
