Fabinho looked so slow and indecisive in midfield, can't imagine him filling in at right back to be honest. Maybe in the french league but not in England. I do hope he "settles in" quickly seeing as I was pumped when we signed him.

He just needs time to settle mate, he'll get there it just takes time, some can't immediately come over and be incredible from day one, this league is in a different world to Ligue 1. It'll take time for him to adapt, even if it takes a year then so be it, it's better than rushing him in.

Think by 30 mins he was better, looked nervous and once he settled was more aggressive. I see him being key for tough away games against more physical teams!

‘Citrus flavoured drink?! Bit exotic’ - James Milner.

It's more the speed of the game he needs to get use to.

Been more slower players that have performed brilliantly in this league.

Probably Jan or next season we will see the best of him.

I said exactly the same Firmane. He looked like the pace of the game was too much for him for 30 minutes but once he got into it he did well.

Thought he had a few nice touches and put in a few tackles, remember one specifically where it was a bad pass from Clyne and he dug us out of danger with a tackle.

Remember when Firmino took 10 games to settle around and now he is God. Patience is a virtue.

Firmino is quality, but there is only one God.

OP, so you made all those observations off the back of his debut in a make shift team that has never played together until well, his debut? Really?

Also, Did you factor in the fact that he was definitely nervous, too eager to impress or lacked match sharpness since pre-season or did you totally miss all these factors? Doesn't look like you did.

I saw him in pre season and he was solid. He was well out of the pace in the first half last night but he got better. He missed a few tackles but he had a tough debut game against one of the top 15 teams in the world. I'd like to see him eased in at the Brighton's and the huddersfield's of the league, build some confidence and get used to the end to end football of the Premier league.
