Ed 001 what do you think is our strongest midfield? Who would you start?

{Ed001's Note - Fabinho, Milner and Keita.}

Agreed.

{Ed025's Note - i want fabinho to start as well.. :)

30 Nov 2018 15:17:34
Ed001 do you think Fab and Kieta’s issues are due to us playing 3 in midfield when both have been used to a two? And could you see Klopp going to a 4231 formation to accommodate them and Shaqiri.

{Ed001's Note - nope they just take time to settle and he has been using that at times anyway.}

No gini ed, he seems too rise too big games at anfield, I like that midfield u said but 2 of them never played in a derby before an them 2 have been in an out the team it's important decisions for klopp in that area as Everton strong in that department, going to b a game where energy needed for 90+ minutes and cool heads a must.

{Ed001's Note - I am still to be convinced by Gini, plenty of ability but he just does not apply himself.}

30 Nov 2018 16:37:36
Cheers Ed001. Yeah I’ve seen that Klopp has played that system this season but can’t remember seeing him use it when either Fab or Kieta have been in the team. Again correct me if I’m wrong but the 2 haven’t actually played a competitive game together yet have they.

{Ed001's Note - Keita has been out injured and only been back a week or two.}

Ox and Robinson took time.

I may be called harsh and that's fine but if it was upto me Wijnaldum wouldn't get a game with us atm! I've said it before and I'll say it again 90% of the time we play with him on the pitch it's like having 10 men on, as much as I like the man, as a player he's not good enough, not for this team.

The way I look at it, he's not playing well and does only every now and then, the other night he was picked before Shaqiri, Keita and Fabinho, why? there's nothing he's done recently to put him ahead of them. Maybe he needs to be sidelined to push him a bit? who knows but right now he wouldn't be close to starting for me. The three above are better players and that's as simple as it gets.

Personally my starting three would be the same as Ed1s but I think Hendo alongside Keita and Fabinho would work wonders. Wijnaldum, Hendo and Milner just aren't working out but you put Hendo/ Milner alongside Keita and Fabinho, it'll be a different story.

Salah I agree with your points on Wijnaldum and he does blow hot and cold. But everything you criticised him for Hendo falls under the same umbrella for me. Yet he gets in your team.

30 Nov 2018 19:32:31
Spot on, Salah about Wiji. If I did not know who he was years ago before he came to England then I would be harsh on him with my criticism. I knew who he was since 2013 when he was part of the Dutch U-23 team at the Euros in 2013, in the same team as De Vrij, Blind, Strootman and Depay as well as in the same competition that gave us Morata, Alcantara, Leno, Mustafi, Carvajal and the list goes on.

Gini is too inconsistent and yes, he does hide in games which is super frustrating cos with Holland tho playing in a more advanced position, he is brilliant for them. Wiji is a brilliant footballer with immense ability and why he does not shoe that as much as he should, I have no idea.

{Ed025's Note - "brilliant footballer with immense ability"???..really red wolf?, half decent player who is mediocrity personified for me mate, and thats without by blue tinted glasses on..

Gotta agree with you on that one ED25. Flashes of good football but most of the time found wanting.

{Ed025's Note - very much so para, and goes missing too often for me mate..

10.) 30 Nov 2018
30 Nov 2018 20:32:54
Ed025 what’s your honest opinion on Hendo. Not as a toffee but as a neutral. And not the Hendo of 2013 but the current version from the last few seasons under Klopp.

{Ed025's Note - never been a fan to be honest JK, works hard enough and gives 100% every game but at the highest level thats just not enough mate, he reminds me a bit of a guy who i used to work with on the corpy, always busy but never achieved much, i believe hes a nice guy as well but i think he is marmite with most supporters..( thats not rhyming slang by the way).. :)

11.) 30 Nov 2018
30 Nov 2018 20:41:06
Salah, you keep up the boring slaughtering of Wijnaldum and I’ll keep up my boring response - if he isn’t good enough for Liverpool, why does the manager continue to select him? Or do you know better than Klopp?

12.) 30 Nov 2018
30 Nov 2018 20:51:16
😂 cheers Ed025. I share the same thoughts as yourself.

{Ed025's Note - kudos mate..

30 Nov 2018 20:53:26
I would not play Gini in any away game, he offers nothing then, at our home games, he does show a bit more, but I would go even further, and say that for the big money that we payed for him, we could have done much better,
Keita is in the same type, he knew that his big transfer to Liverpool was coming, yet he made no attempt to learn the English Language . Poor .

{Ed025's Note - to be fair mate naby has not been at the club long enough to judge, he was very good at RBL and has not become poor overnight..

14.) 30 Nov 2018
30 Nov 2018 20:56:53
Ed025, you may recall that I am a consistent (boring? tedious? ) supporter of Wijnaldum when posters and Eds criticism him as ‘not being good enough for Liverpool’. Of course, I respect your right to have an honest opinion of him, wearing blue-tinted specs or not, but for me Wijnaldum is streets ahead of your new hero, Andre Gomez. I saw a lot of him when he was at Barcelona and although he is a nice footballer he is painfully slow especially for the Premier League.

{Ed025's Note - im afraid you speak with forked tongue my friend, at barca everything has to through love himself lionel WW and that is not a true reflection of the guys ability, he has taken to everton like a duck to water and i hope you see on sunday what all the hype is about mate, of course we can all be a little blind when it comes to one of our own which is why i am sending you a guide dog if you think wiji is anywhere near as good as andre gomes.. :)

15.) 30 Nov 2018
30 Nov 2018 21:00:44
Wirral, of course I don't know more than Klopp but I'm allowed an opinion am I not? you call it boring which is fair enough mate but am I wrong? what does he do to deserve a place in this Liverpool team? please just explain that for me.

16.) 30 Nov 2018
30 Nov 2018 21:25:48
Ed025, Cheers mate, I’ll call the guide dog Fab after your favourite Liverpool player. I am looking forward to seeing how Andre Gomes copes with the relentless pace and pressure of a derby game, as he comes up against Wijnaldum, Fabhino, Keita, Milner or whoever plays in the Liverpool midfield. If you are right about him I’ll readily acknowledge your superior footballing knowledge.

{Ed025's Note - that has never been in question WW..(just kidding), you must think i dont rate your midfield mate, well i think milner is excellent and keita will come good as well, the ox has made me eat my words and i think he is a big miss for the reds..

17.) 30 Nov 2018
30 Nov 2018 21:47:02
Salah, of course you are entitled to your opinion and if you want to highlight his shortcomings, then fair enough. But what irritates me is the constant refrain from you and other posters that ‘he is not good enough for Liverpool’. The manager clearly thinks he is and I agree. He is versatile, playing whatever role the manager wants, he gets around the pitch, wins the ball through a tackle or an interception, uses the ball in a simple but effective way, retains possession for the team very well and links well with whoever else is selected in midfield. Overall, I think he is an excellent, selfless team player without being a standout star in every game - and isn’t that the most important thing in a team game?

18.) 30 Nov 2018
30 Nov 2018 21:57:12
Ed025 that’s it now mate. We’ve offended the thumbs down brigade by criticising Hendo. Funny how none have come up with a valid argument though. Just a thumb down.

{Ed025's Note - its all about opinions JK i would not let it bother you mate, some think its wrong to say anything negative about one of your own but i dont subscribe to that, i want my club to play the best players and i dont care what anyone thinks..

19.) 30 Nov 2018
30 Nov 2018 22:12:36
Fair enough Wirral, I don't agree with you but we can't always agree mate :) .

20.) 30 Nov 2018
30 Nov 2018 22:17:32
Ed025 it’s like water off a ducks back to me. I enjoy reading and valuing everyone’s opinion on here not just the people who share a similar one to mine.

{Ed025's Note - and thats the way to be JK, its all about respect mate..

Tell ya what ed mate everyone going on about Gomes and rightly so I was telling me mate about him before he even kicked a ball for the blues cos he was quality at Valencia, but gylfi has too Be taken very seriously also very underrated player with lots of quality who can score goals out of nothing on his day and he starting too repay that fee, we will have our hands full on Sunday and we will have too Be switched on, got to feeling it's going to b a very good game and open, nerve jangler, yiiiiikkkkkkkkkkes!

{Ed025's Note - i really hope so hailstones, its been a while since we gave you a real game but i think we have the makings of a decent team this season, we have a little way to go of course but silva and brands backed by moshiri looks like a recipe for a decent side mate, in recent times i have not looked forward to derbies at all but i am interested to see where we sit in relation to liverpool this time..

I am not pulling the lad but I think keita needs to be gently eased in.
there is too much hype and expectation around the lad rushing him may not be the best thing as "fans" can be a tad bit judgemental if he doesn't hit the ground sprinting and I am not sure he is at the right stage to be a starter just yet same with fab would like to hear people's thoughts on the new signings.

Ed025, I have seen Wiji play for years before he came to the PL and he is a brilliant footballer, IMO. The issue here is that he is not applying himself. You may not care for international footie BUT to me, footie is footie regardless of where you play it. Wiji is a beast for Holland. Always has been so what happened to that player who takes risks and can dribble, drive and score goals from midfield? That player is the one I want for LFC, not the one who goes missing in games, as you and I know he does.

As for those judging Keita after he's only been here for 3 months, you prolly want to consult recent history regarding this topic cos we saw how Ox, Robbo etc were at the start of their LFC careers before they became boss players. Even Salah was not this good until months after the season began. But hey, I guess it is easier to ignore empirical evidence and to bash a player than it is to actually support a player as they settle into the team.

{Ed025's Note - i totally agree on keita red wolf, but gini is just not producing the goods mate and like him as much as you want unless he does the business he is of no use to liverpool mate..
