Great reading as always Ed001, thanks for all the effort you put into these. You've mentioned before that we haven't played the high intensity football we saw last year as it can't be sustained over a season, this was the first match I've seen where we hounded every Bournemouth player almost 3 on 1 every time they had possession. Do you think this is Klopp turning up the energy for the rest of the season, or just the way he set up to play Bournemouth?

{Ed001's Note - I think it is a bit of both. I think he is beginning to crank it up slightly anyway, but also he sees it as the way to beat Bournemouth so asked for a bit more of it.}

I think with napoli and United next was also a good way to up the tempo and get ready for some massive games for this season.

Many have said that we have missed Oxlade this season, and in the past two games since Keita has come into the team, we look much more like the team of last season. Not neccasarily in the pressing or the intensity, but just the general quality of attacking play has got better. Fabinho and Keita are definitely the way forward for the rest of the season imo.

We've clearly missed Ox this season. We've been depending entirely on aerial attacks and going up the flanks, whereas going up the center of the field (which for me is far more threatening) has been missing.

Thanks for the reply, I thought it looked a lot more like our workrate of last season watching the game. Completely agree that we miss the Ox, but flashes of brilliance from Keita yesterday makes me think that we'll have two quality players in the same role in the future.

Ed001, would you agree that we have the best right-hand side in the league as in TAA/ Gomez, Shaqiri and Salah or do you think ManC's Walker, Bernardo Silva and Sterling is better?

{Ed001's Note - well Walker is a liability, but Trent is not the best defensively either. However Trent offers more in the final third. If Salah plays on the right, then yes ours is the most effective. If it is Shaqiri, then I am not so sure.}

Once again Ed001 many thanks for the game review as you know I look forward to reading them and I must admit I agree with everything you said
As for your “And Finally” posts I’d personally prefer just football posts but that’s just my opinion and I’d read them anyway whatever you put up
Oh and as I don’t post that much I’d like to wish all the posters and Edds a happy Xmas and a peaceful new year.

{Ed001's Note - ok cheers mate. Merry Chrimbo and a Happy New Year to you too.}

Great read as usual, Ed. The game was a model in effectiveness, professionalism, poise and humility. Our boys went out with a game plan and executed it perfectly without any hassles. I also noticed the way we pressed Bournmouth in the half spaces and this paralyzed them cos they could never get going. All in all, 4 goals, clean sheet, 3 points, top of the league, only unbeaten side in all 4 divisions and on to Napoli. BOOM!

Oke, thanks Ed001. Yes I was referring to Salah on the right, Shaqiri below him in midfield and TAA or Gomez as FBs.

{Ed001's Note - Salah is so much better than any other forward in the Premier League on form, that whichever area of the field he plays is the strongest on the pitch. Usually he has 3 players marking him, so it opens up acres for TAA to exploit. Salah is that good.

So yes, we are stronger there when he is out there. It is not really even a contest, to my mind anyway. Salah is light years ahead of the rest. Though Sterling has come on in leaps and bounds recently, he is no Salah.}

After reading your reply and praise for Salah, the first thought that comes to my mind Ed001 is "damn, how are we going to hold on to this guy with us past this summer", with all the scavengers hovering above? I think all depends on how many trophies we win, not if we win or not. Hope I'm wrong.

{Ed001's Note - trophies is what he wants, but he is happy in Liverpool and his wage demands will scare off most potential suitors.}

that clarification on ratings is good btw ed001, new readers should be able to pickup how subs were given 5 despite barely getting into the game.

anyways on to the game, so happy to see Keita starting to implement his own game, starting to look abit like the keita i've seen in leipzig, but definitely still a lot there that we haven't seen as at times in leipzig he was electric.

and Salah is no joke, the man on his form is really a class above. what a third goal.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know why I never thought of putting the clarification in from the start. Silly of me really.}

no worries ed001, i've seen the site grow so much from the days it was just 1 site. if anything users/ readers have been involved in the growth and i can't say the same for many other sites.

genuinely happy to be involved in helping as this site has given me more than i can give back. im sure it is the same with others, feels like a genuine community this site (with the odd trolls here and there haha, nothing new) .

{Ed001's Note - I have always thought it is much better if people get involved, after all you are the ones that are using the site so it makes sense to have your opinions listened to.}
