Hi eds
With you saying you are busy with your family for the next few weeks and won’t be able to do match reviews could I make a suggestion and could someone else do them. I have read other reviews on here before from a poster that were good I just can’t remember who.

Hey Eds025 if your still about, how do you think Fabinio's been doing, we're all v happy with him, has he started to change your mind?

{Ed025's Note - he has done ok i suppose IDLLK but he has had a lot of help from jimmy and naby what iv seen mate, if he does well i will give the fella due praise but its early days yet and he has not come up against much to be honest, lets see how he does when the big boys come out to play mate and he has to take more responsibility..

I don’t know what games you’ve been watching Ed025😂 the guys making around 7-9 crunching tackles a game and has been very confident on the ball as well, including against everton, what more does he have to do to get you to accept defeat? Win the 2019 Ballon d’or?

{Ed025's Note - tackling does not count AW since you all want it banning after ben mee,s challenge on gomez, the thing is mate that you are so desperate for him to do well (or prove me wrong) that you are lauding ordinary performances as brilliant, and thats ok by me as i can be biased as well at times, but i can say hes fantastic if you want?..

He's been nothing special. has not impressed for me. Good squad player but based on his price you would expect he would be an obvious inclusion in the starting 11 and he has not been.

If love a crack at a match review but I’m a chef, it’s December - the 3 hours it takes just to watch the game twice would be a stretch, let alone the time to write the report. More than happy to chip in with a bit of writing though to (hopefully) keep people entertained. I’m putting the finishing touches today to something I’ve written for this site that will be getting sent to you lovely Ed’s tomorrow.

Personally i didn’t have a problem with Ben Mee’s challenge on Gomez, i haven’t seen anyone even complain about it? It was a fair challenge and the rain saw him slide off the field and hurt himself.

Quite the contrary, you don’t have to think Fabinho is the second coming, just that he is a little bit better than, as you put it, a ‘lemon’. I think the vast majority of people would say his performances have been quite positive so far, only time will tell though just how good he is.

{Ed025's Note - thats right AW, you are very fair there mate but on fab if he was as good as you say he would have started in this very important game, he never so that should tell you a lot..

Ed's 025 love your opinions but Fabinio was brought in as a DM crunching tackles are his remit, and the boy can play a bit too from what I've seen.

{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that IDLLK, but lets not castigate mee and then say its ok for fab to do it as thats just hypocrisy mate, i would like to hear zed,s review of tonight as he usually has a balanced view on things mate..

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Eds and Reds, first review due on Sunday evening!

Can't really give much of a review of today I'm afraid Ed025 as I missed the first half (travelling home) and then was juggling work and watching for the second half! From what I caught, it looked pretty frenetic, quite end to end in the second half.

We should have had this dead and buried with 20-25 mins to go but I'm not sure whether the boys (Mane esp) caught a bit of the nerves and tension that we fans felt as they seemed to hurry their shots, thinking Mane's past the post on the left, and Salah's dragged wide on the right.

I really can't complain about our monster of a GK after that save - epic! - but I noticed his distribution got a bit wayward in the second half. I wonder what his pass completion stats were? I reckon they were a bit down on his average in this game.

Matip is growing on me and he seems to play a lot better alongside VVD than he did alongside Lovren last season. With VVD being suspended for the first leg of the next UCL game, we HAVE to hope Gomez is fit and play Gomez/ Lovren rather than Matip/ Lovren.

Lets not forget Fab came on and nearly cost us the game when you're lauding him as something special IDLLK and AW. He met a lot of headers the last 10, but the one that counted in the box he fluffed, Alisson bailed him out.

{Ed001's Note - actually, if you watch it again, there was a push of players which stopped him reaching it, bit harsh to say he nearly cost us the game. Van Dijk failed to make headers too, as did quite a few players at the other end, why so harsh on a player that had just come on as a sub? Or do you also want to hit out at them as nearly costing us the game? Salah could have easily had a hat-trick, did he nearly cost us the game by failing to score the other times?}

If there's a push of our players in front of him to go for a header, it wasn't his header to be won, an he would have filled the gap behind them, as such the ball wouldn't have gone through to Milik.

Alternatively he wins the header and it doesn't go through to Milik, the other players around the ball aren't blameless, I just feel the majority lies with Fab.

Salah and Mane also could have cost us the game with their poor finishing, you're right, I don't dispute that, Alisson bailed them out too, but the above posts weren't about them.

I don't have a vendetta against Fab, I don't mean to be overly harsh, I actually quite like what he's done so far, but lauding him as something he's not yet is all the point I was making. If that was Henderson making that mistake at the end would people have been so keen to let him off the hook?

Also I don't buy the argument about just coming on as a sub, I don't remember the exact time he came on but he must have had at least 5-10 mins by then.

Anyway not meaning to sound argumentative Ed, just how I see it, don't take it the wrong way. May have to agree to disagree.

{Ed001's Note - he only came on in the 85th minute and you misread or I explained badly, the player was pushed into him, not there was a push of players ahead of him.}

I see what you are saying though, I didn't see the previous posts before, just yours and it came across as unnecessarily harsh on its own. However, when the context is taken into account, I can see what you mean.}

No bother Ed001, that's what I love about this site, can have a well natured discussion about different players, all see different things. Much appreciated what you do here.
