Ed01 your thoughts on Alisson?!

{Ed001's Note - my thoughts are still the same as before we bought him, when I was begging for us to buy him. An absolutely top class keeper with the potential to be the best in the world. In fact, an argument could be made for him this season having been the best in the world.

Like every player, he is human and does make the odd mistake, but he makes up for it many times over with the things he does right. I have heard people argue Ederson is better on the ball, but I disagree, there is no keeper in the world who can distribute the ball to the level he can. He won Serie A keeper of the year last season and he is on track to win the Prem version this time.}

Even if Ederson could distribute better (at best they’re equal), he couldn’t hold a candle to Allison.

Ive got to say Allison has started to impress me a little more. Still got a bit more to do to be up there with ddg. Hopefully he will get there.

{Ed025's Note - i think he is better than de gea walter certainly this season, liverpool payed big money for him and VVD but they have both justified their price tags mate..

I was one of the those that wanted Karius to get another season to prove himself coz we were overpaying for a GK who was not a significant improvement on what we had and spent only one good season in Europe.
Its safe to say I got my butt kicked on that one coz Alisson has been a revelation. Best GK in the league at the moment and top3 in the world.

I think Allison is already an absolute legend but he’s still not at de gea standard yet. That said, I think de gea might prove to be one of the greatest of all time but if there’s one keeper I’ve seen in the last ten years that looks capable of beating him, it’s allison. Ederson isn’t even in the same league.

{Ed001's Note - have you not been watching de Gea lately? He has been half the keeper Alisson has. In fact he has been so bad that Spain want to drop him and he has cost Man Utd goals instead of saving them as usual. I don't know what is up with him, but he is really struggling. His head is not right at the moment.}

alisson is the best this season in epl and most likely the best in the world on current form. he needs to it consistently to be named among de gea (as he has been doing it consistently apart from this season, earning points for his club), bt there's no doubt he's the best so far this season.

I completely agree that degea is having a bad season but who at United isn’t? Even with a bad run of form he has been the best keeper in the world by quite a margin for the last few years. Allison is on fire but he’s got a bit to go. Form is temporary and all that. While I’d love Allison to become the goat, he’s not just there yet.

{Ed001's Note - for the last 3 seasons de Gea has been the one player at United who hasn't been having a bad season. There is clearly a problem with him since he went away with Spain in the summer.}

DDG wants out. Its obvious. The poor guy has been spending his best years playing for Jose and hoping his team qualify for a top6 finish while playing dinosaur football in front of Smalling and JOnes.
He will be gone in the summer unless something drastic changes at Old Trafford. I think the premier league has seen the last of an in form DDG. And Alisson has come at the right time to pick up the pieces and mantle of the best GK in England.

De Gea is probably the main reason United finished where they did last season. But their true level is starting to show now because he isn't there to bail them out, he's even costing them games actually.

I can't wait for Sunday but going on De Gea's performances I can't wait even more, for some odd reason he's leaking in the goals, imagine him against us? he'll crumble imo, we're going to give them a good smashing on Sunday!

I’d say degea’s heart is gone after the Spanish move never happened in my opinion. Where could he go at this point anyway? Even if he hits form again the big teams have capable keepers. Regardless, I am ridiculously hopeful Allison keeps up the form and becomes one of the true greats and does what degea did for United for the last few years (earn them at least 12 additional points singlehanded)

De Gea has been quality the last few years shot stopping but wouldn’t suit us as he is not good enough with the ball at his feet for how we want to play. Alisson is perfect for us good on the ball commands his area which is what we need as we play a higher line and the way he makes great saves look simple and straightforward just shows how great he is
Plus he can play the guitar!

Love Alisson, what a huge difference a goalkeeper makes! He’s confident, controlling and mostly calming, although he always seems to have one pass a game go directly to their first line - although that could still make his pass accuracy 98% with the amount he has to his feet.

Ed025 hope your well mate. Just picking up on what you’ve said above about Alisson being better than DDG and praising him. You were saying a few weeks back that you thought Pickford is as good as Alisson mate, do you stand by what you said or do you think you may of under estimated Alisson ability and was clouded by his one mistake away at Leicester months ago? Not looking for an argument mate and appreciate your input as always just wanted to ask.
