Hi Ed02. How are you doing? Need your inputs here. Could you please let us know on the financial aspects of Champions League participation. I was going through some reports where it was mentioned that there will be ranking based distribution for the participation money in the first round. And there will be money for each win and draw. Subsequently, there will be more money if a team qualifies for the next round. Please help with the details.

{Ed002's Note -
Play Off Round losers - €5M
Qualifying for the Group Stage - €15.25M
Winning a Group Stage match - €2.7M
Drawing a Group Stage match - €900k
Qualification (Round of 16) - €9.5M
Qualification (Quarter Finals - €10.5M
Qualification (Semi- Finals) - €12M
Qualification (Final) - €15M
Winning (Final) - €4M
Additional Payments for Clubs in the Group Stage (Television Money) – A share of about €300M depending on several factors
Additional Payments for Clubs in the Group Stage (Performance Coefficients) – A share of a little more €585M depending on several factors (between €1.1M for lowest ranked club to about €35M for the highest ranked club (Real Madrid).}

Can’t wait for sky sports to glance at this page and be inspired to run a good twenty min segment on the financials and whip everyone up into a pre window frenzy. Seriously though, thanks for the info ed very interested to see how much the play off losers receive.

Sorry for my understanding, Madrid get paid a bit extra because they are ranked highest? 😳.

{Ed002's Note - Some of the payments are based on performance based rankings, Real Madrid are ranked #1, Barcelona #2 etc..}

top quality info Ed002. I hope we can keep progressing in the competition and next year we should move up the rankings and be in at least pot 2.

Shout out to Gini he is far exceeding my expectations.

{Ed002's Note - As it stands right now Liverpool would be in Pot 2 or 3 - much depending on who wins the major leagues. Liverpool has jumped up the rankings as it has been expanded from 5 to 10 years.}

Excellemt question by OP and wonderful insight provided by ED02.

So you possibly earn a headline figure of €70m if you end up winning the CL.

So 15.25 group stage
8.1 matches won
9.5 qualification knock out
20.0? Additional payment
? TV money

You can see the importance of top 4 Gauranga.

I'm waiting for the day when club chief accountants start sitting next to managers on the bench, to remind that a win is worth 1.8 Million more than a draw in a group stage match. 😏.

Just for Berg, the figures are cumulative.

Both teams who qualify for the final get €15m, the winner also gets €4m on top.

:)
