Ed002,

Around a year ago - maybe longer - you listed off some of the things that Liverpool needed to do in order to become a more sustainable business and reputable club. It was about 5-6 things, and one I recall sticking out was their management of players out on loan. I was recently reading an article about Harry Wilson in which Julian Ward was mentioned as having kept tabs on the young lad. Ward has held the position of loan pathways manager for over three years now, I believe, and I was curious if you knew whether he had grown into this role or not. Basically, has the club been better about making contact with the youngsters out on loan and helping them adjust, or is it same ole, same ole?

Thanks!

{Ed002's Note - The club are very aware that they have not been the best at structuring loans. Wilson has stood out because of a few free kicks but largely the issue exists still - perhaps better than it was. It is better than it was wnem Rodgers would send, or perhaps have sent, the occasional text message, but right now it is still haphazard to say the least. Other clubs will put together a plan for progression to players and will keep in regualr contact - putting the onus on players to perform and offering help to get them to the point where this can be achieved. The club does still have players on loan who will struggle for Work Permits - another massive lesson to learn for Klopp.}

Thank you for your response. I know it is not your typical question on this site.

{Ed002's Note - It is Ok - and good to be asked a reasonable question. The club has recognised a number of failings and is working toward improving the situation. The team is playing well, and getting the rub of the green and making the most of it - and that puts them in a great position for the league this year. Not much needs changing right now.}

Ed002, question on this if I may. Does this statement infer some sort of naivety or failure on the scouting front in that they have recognised these young guys with expectation of hitting the big time thus making a WP easier, or is more-so the structural, or lack thereof, nature of the club?

And by Klopp do you mean Klopp himself or he was also unaware of the issues? I assume it would be partly the former due to the Grujic scenario, for example

Cheers :)

{Ed002's Note - Klopp damaged the reputation of the club by lying previously. It certainly did not help.}
