Thanks Ed. Great result last night. Let's hope we can seize on the opportunity.

{Ed001's Note - fingers crossed.}

Morning eds
Shocking picture! I won’t miss Fellaini.

{Ed001's Note - there were hundreds of them to choose from to be honest. The guy should have been banned many years before, he is a thug and will badly hurt someone.}

Cheers ed mate, hope you are well, nice to see fifa sticking to their guns with corruption charges.

{Ed001's Note - the guy still maintains his innocence to be fair, so it might be FIFA quietly trying to undo a mistake?}

Cheers Ed, finally football tonight, can't bloody wait but I'll only get to see the second half! damnit lol have a good day mate!

{Ed001's Note - to be honest, it is not a game that genuinely matters thanks to Rafa. It has become a Brucie Bonus this match. If we lose, things stay the same, but draw or win and that gap opens up. Basically though, we can go and enjoy this game as a free hit.}

Yes, very true that Ed mate.

{Ed001's Note - so relax and enjoy!}

Disagree, Ed. I think this has suddenly become even more important than before if that was possible. If we win this, our foot is firmly now on the throat of City’s title bid, and the pressure will be enormous for them heading into a huge week with 3 matches against teams from whom they could well come under some serious assault.
If we win this, one more loss for City could well spell the end of their title hopes. This is our biggest game of the season so far.

{Ed001's Note - sorry but 7 points does not do that at all.}

That’s a fair point ed, however, there is still a fine in place. Awfully murky waters in my opinion. If he’s innocent, surely there should be no fine.

I just don’t get your reasoning that this game doesn’t genuinely matter (I know what you mean by ‘matter’) . 7 points ahead is a far stronger position than 4.

Is this ed001 or an imposter. I can't believe ed001 would ever say a match is a free hit, Very unlike you ed.

anyhow considering how we have lost titles in the past from very strong positions i hope the boys just get the job done tonight and sit 7 points clear heading into a crucial Febraury. If god wills it our valentines might get some real treats this time round :P.

{Ed001's Note - but it is a free hit. No one expected Newcastle to get a win over them, so stretching the lead would be a bonus.}

Man Utd always used to have a frustratingly annoying habit of managing to lose games in the same round of fixtures as their rivals would lose a game, so their loss never really made much of a difference. I think that’s the kinda thing ed means.

{Ed001's Note - exactly. It is just a game now, rather than a desperate need to hold onto a 4 point lead.}

I see what you’re both saying, I think you’ve misunderstood Ed though. Ed is saying we need more points than City to win the league, we only have to do the same as them for the rest of the season. But winning and forcing them further behind obviously helps us to achieve the points needed to better their final points tally sooner and for all our benefit. The team will be insisting on a must-win mentality here on out I would imagine and rightly so. Ed didn't mean free hit in the way it’s probably easy to construe. He’s saying we don’t have a desperate need to be 7 points clear, but we do have a desperate need to stay in front. Telling the team that though would be a bad idea.

I'll enjoy it Ed if I get to watch the second half mate. Back to work again now so things atm are hectic as **** lol. Fingers crossed for tonight but it doesn't matter either way imo because we'll still win the league, I think we'll win tonight but I'm not overly confident. still though, City lost so no matter what we're ahead bugger it.

{Ed001's Note - fingers crossed you get to see it.}

I agree with Ed, for the most part. We had an opportunity to go 7 points up at best or be 4 points up at worst and with the way the game panned out, I'm happy to extend the gap even if it is by one point. % is always better than 4 cos mark my words, EVERY point will count come season's end.
