Just an opinion. the feeling of anxiety around Anfield last night was palpable. I get it, I’m a fan of 45 years and the level of desperation to get over the line makes you feel sick at times. That said, I think we fans and the glorious Kop can play our part by trying to enjoy the journey and showing it in our appreciation and singing etc.

Shankly once said. ”Pressure is working down the pit. Pressure is having no work at all. Pressure is trying to escape relegation on 50 shillings a week. Pressure is not the European Cup or the Championship or the Cup Final. That’s the reward. ”

We are in the race to win championship! Few teams can realistically say that. So, win, lose or draw let’s show that we appreciate it and it might get the lads over the line when teams turn up, play well are very organised and we are struggling to break them down and need that extra man. Let’s take the pressure off by showing the team that we are enjoying it. Half time Istanbul ring a bell. It just might relax the team enough so their running is easier, touch is lighter and decisions better.

I know this post won’t change it but just wanted to say it.

Brilliant post, OP. I watched on the telly and the atmosphere felt flat esp. when things were not going lour way. It seemed many were on hand to just see what they expected to happen and when it was looking difficult, they just waited for the players to do something instead of helping them and ginning them up with relentless support. I understand the anxiety BUT frankly, has this team and this manager not done enuff to get us juiced up for a game of this magnitude? The fans need to come to play for each game at Anfield cos the PL title will NOT be won by just the players and manager. The fans have to be a hugwe part of it and dare to dream just like our boys and manager have all season and, so we can all get to the promise land. LET'S GO!

Great post and a nice change of pace, 5 points clear of the most expensive squad ever assembled can't be all bad.
Yes last night was a huge opportunity missed but nothing is ever straight forward.
I really don't see City winning their next 3 games so I guess we'll just have to see what happens next.
As u mention about fans being desperate to get over the line, for me it's got to the point where it's not about ending the long wait, about showing we're not serial chokers, personally I just couldn't stand how smug Pep would be if we blow it, it'd be unbearable.

Nice one Statto, I wanted to say something similar but you put it much better than I could. Only 7 home league games left the supporters lucky enough to get tickets should be making each one like a European night.

Nice one Statto. As a humble lad from New Zealand, it'll be very rare that I will go to Anfield to experience it. Maybe one day, when the kids are older, working and can pay for themselves lol. But anyways, I started following the club in the mid 90s but was only really able to catch highlights on the news to get results. Learning about the club it was things I learned like "how knowledgable Anfield crowd is", "applauding former players", applauding skill from opposition", singing non-stop etc etc it was those values that fueled my passion for the club. So to watch the team more closely with TV networks and online options, as an outsider you do get the impression that Anfield can be a pressure cooker ready to pop. And just imagining what kind of pressure that puts the players under over and above the pressure they already manage day to day.

Here in NZ at sporting events we only sing when we winning. and even then we don't really sing! I wish and hope that Anfield never loses that spirit of unconditional support and love for their team but also Express that raw passion and emotion through song, chants etc.

Great post Statto. We as fans have a role to play and that is to support our lads in this wonderful rollercoaster we are on. Remember it is a privilege to win the league not a right. I sometimes think our sense of entitlement gets in the way of reality, it is 30 years since we last won the league!

Well said OP. We are going to win it.

Bad news, although we extended our lead over city it is still 2 games they need to win to over take us, so it's similar to a loss

That said, its not that simple. An extra point could be the point that wins us ghe league.

Calm down guys, we have this. The pitch was poor which will always favour the worse team. Our injuries are coming back soon. Trent and gomez, rather than matip and milner/ hendo. Thought hendo was great at rb. Its nice to know we have that option as its one of the positions we are light on, the other being lb.

Bet we signn Chilwell in the summer.
