Surprised shaqiri didn't get a cameo last night with the front 3 not excatly playing great


Is he carrying a knock or anything anyone.

{Ed025's Note - i happen to think dezy has a point ace, the front three...well 2 really as bobby was missing in action most of the game..overplayed it for me, very arsenal like and frustrating but why the hell wont they have a shot from outside 12 yards?, very pretty at times and the movement was good but its all about putting the ball in the onion bag in the end mate..

I also thought the front 3 played well in most parts but just lacked the cutting edge in the final third.

I think the main reason for this was Bayerns defence and closing down was excellent.

I felt like bringing in origi was klopp trying something different as playing through them clearly wasn't working. The second leg will be a completely different affair.

Eds 025, personally thought Bobby was much better last night, Salah seemed off the pace to me.

{Ed025's Note - hes industrious IDLLK but his influence on games this season has been minimal for me mate, that may be due to where hes playing of course but he looks a shadow of the bobby from last season mate..

Edo25 I was thinking the exact same as you all day. They are over playing the ball. It's like they are trying to score the perfect goal and passing when they could have a shot.

{Ed025's Note - yeah mick, arsenal and chelsea do it all the time and it can be very frustrating mate, if you get a sight of goal...put your bloody laces through it once in a while...its not rocket science..

I thought they played well until the last pass, their final touch or shot was just off, but Mane or Salah could have scored two each.

I’d have tried Shaqiri for ten at least. He may have been out and a bad few weeks before but he’s shown he’s got that killer pass in his locker, a free kick, or a long shot. always think he looks likely even when he’s not on it.

I agree with ed25 other than I thought firmino was the better one of the front 3 specifically off the ball as none of them had the cutting edge on it and mane and Salah constantly overplayed it. For me it was the perfect type of game to have brought on Shaqiri even though he hasn’t been playing well recently he’s still more competent than Keita and wiji going forward. We needed offensive switches that were going to be able to make us more of a threat late in the game and neither Milner or origi are my idea of that, Shaqiri is.

{Ed001's Note - Shaqiri is not working hard enough, you can't put him in against a side with real threat.}

{Ed025's Note - i dont you know liverbird, i like the guy but his performances this season have been basically awful im afraid, now whether thats him playing in a different position or just a loss of form i dont know mate...but thats not the bobby of last season thats for sure..

They didn't play well enough or create clear cut chances 1 shot on target for most the match and passing was miles of thwy didn't have a good game for me.
