I know we are all disappointed. But come on, did we expect anything from them? Spurs possibly, but not so much after their champions league win. Look, Burnley May turn up, bully them. Keep it tight. Perhaps, no Fernandinho or De Bruyne. If not, Leicester may hit them on the counter. A sucker punch from Vardy. If not Brighton may absolutely need a point. It may sound unlikely, but stranger things have happened.

At least no Manc United fan will be able to say, “you only won it because of us”.

Believers. Don’t doubt it.

Peace.

I think it's done mate to be honest. Just don't see City not smashing Burnley and Brighton.

I'm extremely proud of Liverpool and I hope and believe we can win the European cup as well as our remaining 3 matches in the league.

I thought about this earlier.

we play first this weekend and next. we are thinking about where they will drop points, whilst discounting every single one of our games. it's not even in the conversation!

We lose and they don't even need to win. that isn't my point though, that absolute confidence that we have in our results and faith in our team is there for them. if where not dropping points, why are they?

I've said the same thing repeatedly tonight Adam, that I think Liverpool will win thier last three leauge games and the European Cup, but will ultimately miss out to City in the EPL as they are on a roll and I don't think thier remaining opponents have enough to stop them. But all you get in response is being called defeatist and name calling like it's a kids play ground.

I myself thought this game would be pivotal to put us in an advantageous position but it wasn't to be. Let's not give us hope. There are so many things that have gone for us this season where we could have otherwise drawn of lost games. Could there be one further twist? I pray that will be the case. It's a funny old game as Jimmy Greaves used to say in his TV hey day. On a side note based on their recent performances how badly Man United have fallen? It brings back some painful memories of our pitiful plights at times.

Anyway, let's try to keep our thoughts positive in the last few legs of this campaign.

Peace out!

to be honest, I couldn't see Man Ure getting anything from this game, they got really opened up for the 2nd goal, and David De Gear is have a bad time, I think he wants out .

We should be proud of this team regardless. That being said, the sting of finishing 2nd if we get 97 points and 1 loss all year will be felt for a long time.

Not time to throw in the towel mate. Let's even win our remaining matches and see where that gets us. To be honest with you, I firmly believe that this year hold something special for us in the EPL and United rolling over for City can't change my view. I strongly believe it will be 20-19 in weeks time. We can only believe and nothing is impossible to them that believe right? Cheers!

If you think that any of City’s last three opponents will give them a game, then you’re delusional. Burnley are virtually safe and Brighton will likely be safe, as for Leicester they’re already in flip flops and holiday mode. We blew this ourselves. Best chance in years to win it and we cock it up.

We cocked it up?

Hi exactly have we cocked it up after winning so many intense games on the trot? The bottom line is Man City has been on an incredible winning streak too and we’re in one of the best title races ever.

Nothing negative should be said about either side given how both have played in the last few months, both deserve a massive amount of credit, regardless of who wins.

Tonight has flattened a lot of us yes but chins up guys it's still to fight for. We only need 1 slip up from them it's not like we need a complete meltdown. I had always fancied us up until now, if I was forced to bet everything I own I'd choose city as of tonight.

BUT let's not give up, 270 mins of football left, it's not unthinkable that city make errors. Fernandinho and De bruyne most likely out for these games, gundogan also got injured, city will be a little light in midfield and may need to change their shape, . They've shown weaknesses over Christmas when midfield was disrupted, they may not have everything go their way so easily so let's keep the belief and faith in this dream going til the end reds.

I am still counting on Burnley doing them again at Turf Moor like they have done in the last few seasons. However if City win all their games, then they are deserved champions. The draws against Man Utd and Everton are what will have cost us the league.
We are still 2-3 quality players away from going toe to toe with City on all fronts and a better attacking option than Origi/ Sturridge could have been the difference in those dropped points against West Ham, Leicester, Utd and Everton. Hopefully we correct that in the summer and convince an attacker to join irrespective of our front 3 being practically immovable.

If only we had that super player to get us the winner in every game we dropped points we'd have 114 points. Such an silly point so many are making to say those draws cost us, if only we won every single game we'd be champions by now. Let's appreciate the points we earned and scrapped for. 88 of them, Chelsea Everton Fulham Southampton spurs, all points gained from true grit and hunger to win. You say we need 2 to 3 players to go toe to toe with city? We're 1 point off them and have progressed further in Europe. Why is everybody stating that we won't win the league because we dropped points in some games. That's like saying a snooker player didn't win because he didn't hit a 147 break. It seems to be common theme on here just because city beat a hopeless United? You can't win every game, we've scrapped as many points late on in games at a similar rate to points we've dropped. Appreciate this season's effort.

We all know that Burnley could be a banana skin to any team as Chelsea found out last time out. A bit anti football from Dyche can do the magic. City only managed to advance ahead of BHA in the FA cup semis and they might not be safe when they meet with revenge on their minds, well Leicester errm. I don't know. The season isn't over yet though it's hard to see City drop points against these teams but so the world thought when Newcastle, CP and LEI defiled the odds. I think you should fear a team that have nothing to play for but making a statement of pride as Fulham has shown recently. Realistically though, it's difficult to see it happen but it can't be faith if it looks possible? Nothing is impossible to them that believe guys and we need to show the boys that we believe in the posibilities of their valiant effort. Very difficult but not impossible me think.

25 Apr 2019 07:23:51
Shankly you say anyone who thinks it's possible for city to drop points to teams with nothing to play for are delusional. You're delusional in that thought. Burnley took points from Chelsea, palace beat arsenal. Wolves beat arsenal. Everton beat united. All in the last few days. Teams with nothing to play for beating teams with much to play for. Football isn't black and white.

16.) 25 Apr 2019

We have matched City so far this season and what should not be forgotten is the massive improvement the squad as made since last season. We have stepped up and if we do lose the title while attaining 97 points we should be so proud of the team, as for the draws against Utd and Everton costing us, to me it will be that 1 loss away to city that may end up being the decisive game.
I still hope Burnley Leicester and Brighton can shock us and get any result that will turn the table, but we all should be so proud of the effort shown by the lads this season even if it doesn't go the way we wish.
Keep believing and YNWA.

17.) 25 Apr 2019
25 Apr 2019 08:28:25
frankly - how is this the best chance in years when our direct title rivals are on track to fall just 2 points shy of their record points haul from last season?

I think the defeatist in people is coming out too strong here and actually is coming across pathetic imo. sorry but don't care if you get offended, I'm shocked at the attitude.

Spot on, Faith. The real bottlers are the fans, not the players cos if that were the case, we would not be where we are today.

As Har_red92 posted, if only we had that super player to turns those 7 draws into wins (this is hoping we win all the other games) we would have 114 points right now. This is the type of nonsensical arguments we are dealing with.

And yo conclude, only the deluded and weak-minded think that a team losing the title by one point on potentially the last day of the season with NINETY-SEVEN points in the kitty, is full with a bunch of bottlers.
