10/ 10 for the review best way to do it.

Am looking forward to tonight's game as well, if it is 10% as good it will be a cracker.

Very generous of you to give Alba a 0.5, thought he was possibly their worst player.

Pressed send to quickly!

I just want to say how poor the officiating was last night, unreal. Not only the theatrics from Suarez but minor details like foul throws. I was gobsmacked.

Anyway, what a night. Truly incredible Ed001.

Is that the first time we see negative rating?

Thanks for the review ed, what a team we have the pleasure to watch and follow!
Few things, most about the winning corner was how it was taken but how it was won was also clever play by TAA.
This was a Barcelona team that rested everyone on the weekend and we still out played them.
Messi is a magician but your spot on about him not being able to turn a game.
Gini's turn to take out 2 Barcelona players i could watch for days.
If anyone wants to leave this club then I wish them well, but the grass isn't always greener.

{Ed001's Note - that turn was truly beautiful.}

That seems about spot on Eds 001, can't argue with any of them ratings 😁.
Still can't believe how good we were.

{Ed001's Note - it just shows the power of a team working together as one.}

08 May 2019 17:17:00
Great review Ed. That must be one of the most gratifying reviews you've ever done, eh? Brilliant, just brilliant.

{Ed001's Note - certainly the most enjoyable rewatch.}

Nice review ed.

I thought the ref was awful last night too.

What a game. Loved seeing how emotional milner was at the whistle. Those players will remember that game for the rest of their lives.

Taa's walk around the pitch at the end was a real special moment to watch. Felt like a foretelling of what's to come from the lad. Liverpool and taa are joined at the hip. More special moments to come from the lad down the years.

Special mention to the crowd as well 11/ 10. Any posters that were there last night, you played your part. Cheers lads.

{Ed001's Note - good point, I was going to add Anfield at the end as the last man but forgot! It was incredible last night.}

Excellent review Ed - and what shouldn’t be forgotten is that many outsiders might assume Liverpool came through this semi as underdogs. an exceptional one off result against one of the best sides in Europe or some such nonsense.

The reality however is we more than kept pace with them at the Nou camp, and often played much better than them, we just didn’t take our chances. In the second leg however we blew them off the park with our heavy metal football, and they didn’t know what hit them. The overall result was not a flash in the pan in my opinion, Liverpool was completely deserving of the overall aggregate win and shouldn’t be considered as underdogs anymore against even the likes of Barca.

Back where we belong, true European royalty, and that’s quite some statement vs. where we were just three short years ago.

{Ed001's Note - we were the better team over two legs and truly deserved to go through.}

Nice on Ed I think the Matip haters have been shut up
Now he’s been brilliant during his his run in and surely is the best 3rd choice cb in the premier league. I also think we missed him against Newcastle as his forward runs disrupt deep lying teams and break the lines.

As for origi I was wrong about him, definitely enough quality to be our second striker along with Brewster but it’s his desire that stands out. Hard work beats talent every time.

I’ll be at anfield for the final so see some of you there hopefully!

Spot on as usual Ed001.

I was there last night and the ground was electric.

{Ed001's Note - thank you for the noise you made.}

13.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 17:48:16
Thank you for that ed! I was so impressed with everyone last night, our players, our manager and our fans. Everyone was superb. The interviews afterwards showed the group of players we have on our hands at the minute, measured and mature and playing as a team. Trent doing a lap of the pitch was class I hope he stays for his career and we an give him a full trophy cabinet he deserves.

{Ed001's Note - nice that Robbo got to laugh back at Suarez as well.....}

14.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 17:53:01
What about a rating for that atmosphere ed? I think we know though!

{Ed001's Note - 510 out of 10?}

15.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 18:01:51
I think that’s my favourite player ratings I’ve ever read.

Thank you Ed001!

Red Sandman.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate.}

16.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 18:10:24
You forgot the fans Ed001.
10/ 10 for all Redmen everywhere 👏.

{Ed001's Note - you are right I did. Just a mistake as I initially put about it the noise in the first few paragraphs, then removed it with the intention of putting it at the end as the 12th man and just forgot when I got down there.

It was one of those nights when Anfield truly was the 12th man.}

17.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 18:32:04
I thought that Barcelona looked like they were the ones that played on sat night and we looked the fresher.
The ref was absolutely garbage.

08 May 2019 18:20:58
We luv you Ed, and you know that can’t be bad
We luv you Ed, and you know you should be glad
Wooooooo 😀.

{Ed001's Note - still drunk?}

08 May 2019 18:25:40
That is the best one yet Ed, more importantly you are absolutely bloody spot on about everything! we were just unreal, it's up there in my top 3 games of all time, absolutely unreal and for me beats Istanbul. This team is just unreal, I love it more because we were automatically ruled out by so many and we came back, like that? fantastic. It's one of them games where I think to myself, how can you pick a man of the match? the whole team were incredible, they all get it for me.

Origi or Trent is going on my shirt for next season, I can't decide on who yet!

Thank you very much mate, I was looking forward to your views on this legendary game!

{Ed001's Note - it was a better performance than Istanbul and a much better watch. For some reason I was always confident in this one, all my friends told me there was no chance but I just kept saying its not over yet.}

20.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 18:38:12
I know you don’t like stats, but in terms of ratings it’s about 130 to 10.

{Ed001's Note - I must have given Barca too many points....}

21.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 18:44:59
Strange you say that ed, I wouldn't have said it out loud but I wa quietly confident with this one as well.

{Ed001's Note - I have seen Barca play a lot over the last few years and they are susceptible. They cannot handle a team taking the game to them and fold like a cheap suit.}

22.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 18:48:46
Ed001 do performances like that make you think the likes of Matip, Origi and Shaq are good enough back up for next season or would you still like to strengthen?

{Ed001's Note - why not both? We need full backs no matter what.}

23.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 18:48:51
Absolutely loved your review of the game Ed, I’ve been checking for it on here regular today lol. Spot on in everything you said. Jesus I can’t beleive how Coutinho has fallen away from the player he was with us, or at least it seems like he was better with us and the main focal point. Thanks again mate.

{Ed001's Note - I think that is the difference, everything revolved around him at Liverpool so he looked better than he was.}

24.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 18:53:19
I was exactly the same Ed mate, the other day I was speaking to a few others and they were saying how the damage was already done and how without Firmino and Salah, we were going to get battered. I said similar to yourself 'it's not over until it's over, we shall see' don't get me wrong mate I was nervous as hell but at the same time I thought bugger it, we CAN do it! and we bloody did. If any person is negative about this team now they need their heads sorting out, we're unreal, we're the best in the world and it's as simple as it gets for me.

I've been on cloud 9 all day and it'll continue, we'll win the league on Sunday and we'll win the Champions league for damn sure. Bring any team on!

Thanks again mate, going to send my boy this, he'll love it.

{Ed001's Note - I just wish the league was in our own hands, we can do nothing but win our game and hope.}

25.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 19:10:45
Nice one ed01. They all deserved a 10.who was motm btw? Milner gave his all. He always gives 110%, last night he gave 111%.

{Ed001's Note - I really couldn't pick one. If I had to pick a MOTM it would be the crowd.}

26.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 19:25:06
I think the 4th goal has got to be one of my favourite goals of all time. Just the absolute class from Trent and Div. and the faces on Barcelona players wondering how we even scored.
The win still doesn’t feel real yet.

27.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 19:36:37
Istanbul was special because we had no right to compete with that milan side, even now i don't believe how the game panned out when i see the 2 line ups, gerrard dragged us through many a season with average players around him.
Last night though, that was special because it proved what most of us already believed and that's this team are the real deal and are going to compete year on year for as long as klopp is driving, every game now i feel like the opposition need to be right at it if they are going to compete with us and if we lose, you know they must have damn well earnt it! I believe the 2 best teams in the world play in england and next year they will scoop all the prizes between them again should we go on to win it now.

28.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 19:39:17
Oh Ed, me too, me too mate! I keep thinking 'if only we beat City in that last game' but what will be will be. I really believe City at the weekend will bugger up and it excites me so much. We'll do it, once again against all odds, we're going to do it! I can't wait, I have no doubts about it, I almost feel like mystic meg. We just need to beat Wolves and to be honest, they do concern me somewhat, I believe we'll beat them but they aren't pushovers and I can't see us steamrolling them but we'll win.

{Ed001's Note - yeah they are not going to be easy and a lot was taken out of the players last night.}

29.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 19:45:11
Ed01, great read as always. This is the first time I have seen you rate players in such glowing terms and By Golly, did they deserve it by giving EVERY last drop of sweat, blood and guts for the cause. Were mistakes made? Sure BUT as you said earlier, that does not matter. The players gave a clinic on how far heart, belief, hardwork determination and a will to win, can take you.

Milner was dead on his feet, in tears. Hendo just revealed he played thru an injury. Robbo finished the first have after the one who shall not be named, injured him. VVD played thru pain as it was not certain he would start as he did not train at all the day before. Origi ran himself into the ground and was cramping up. And on and on and on. I'm sorry BUT I don't care oif you are Barcelona or Messi. If you cannot match that type of intensity and tempo with the oppo. leaving it ALL out on the pitch, you talent will NOT save you. That much is a fact.

And regarding what Shaq told Studge as he came off, I watched it several times (as I was fired up when I saw it live) and did some lip reading. I think he told Sudge, "Come on, man. Fight, brother. Fight! " I had goose-bumps seeing that.

{Ed001's Note - I just loved his sheer enthusiasm, Shaq's I mean, when he was trying to get Studger up for it. Sturridge was not even looking at him though as he was too busy doing his pre-match ritual.}

30.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 20:16:15
Great review as always Eds1 but how come Hendo only a 10.

{Ed001's Note - because I decided to set the maximum as 10 or it would have been impossible to know where to stop.}

31.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 20:22:44
HaHa I agree btw are you watching the Ajax game?

32.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 20:26:56
Yeah, first negative score! Nice one ed01.

{Ed001's Note - it had to happen one day.}

33.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 20:57:35
I love the negative score ed. Does it mean they would have been better off with 10 men?

Hey, our emotions are all over the shop. Giving the fans motm. That was bang on mate. They were amazing from the first verse of ynwa.

YNWA has to make even players like messi's knees knock a bit. Pipco and suarez more so i reckon.

{Ed001's Note - that is exactly what it meant. Though it would have been more like 9 as Coutinho was not exactly there!}

34.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 21:47:27
Was that sturridge’s best rating all season?

Think your ratings of Barcelona are a bit harsh, makes it sound like they didn’t turn up. Not being critical, just don’t want to take it away from the team if you get me?

35.) 08 May 2019
08 May 2019 22:14:04
Ed01 seriously, tho. Negative ratings for Barcelona players? That was a bit "harsh" don't you think? Er Just kidding. They were dire from top to bottom and the negative ratings does not do adequate justice for how completely dreadful some of their players were. Langlet for one, was hopeless. Cou did not need to be rated as I forgot he was playing until he got subbed. Rakitic? Dire and the list goes on.

{Ed001's Note - Lenglet is just a terrible player, no idea why they bought him.}

36.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 00:14:40
Brilliant review ED001. I love the words you used in reference to VVD "bestrode like a collosus'.
Also just my humble observation that you can easily see the team spirit so high and the mutual trust they have for one another. The midfield 3 of Henderson, Milner and Fab were warriors - closing down, harassing, tackling. It was the engine room.
Barcelona just could not cope with this along with the pace and physicality. They are spoilt with so much respect and time in La Liga but hopefully this can now give other teams confidence to exploit Barcelona for what we had always felt they were - a weakened team and not the Barcelona of old.

{Ed001's Note - unfortunately other teams just think Barca are still too good as they are not at Liverpool's level. I doubt anything will change in Spain, though Barca have not been as dominant this season so you never know.}

37.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 21:20:43
Think Mane deserved 11.

38.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 22:21:28
I agree with most of that. Let's not get carried away. VVD and Matip were a 9 and Shaqiri was an 8.

I do agree about your verdict of Soggy Busquets though. He was absolutely awful and deserves the -1 in your report.

39.) 09 May 2019
09 May 2019 22:15:53
Salah mate, I’d go for Origi. save yourself a few quid on lettering! I was lucky enough to be in the kop last night and whilst the majority of matches I’ve been too are Champions League games due to it being nigh on impossible to get league tickets, the atmosphere was head and shoulders above anything I’ve experienced. surpassed Dortmund which I didn’t think was possible! Ps Salah. I love your continued optimism and IF we do the unthinkable on Sunday I’ll buy you a beer!
