A question for ED002, love your information snippets! Makes us more aware about football in general. Big big fan.
I had a question, I remember you telling us that FSG might be looking out for a strategic partner who can help grow the club. Is there still interest Liverpool to sell a minority stake or has the plan been shelved in the hope for a larger valuation in the future?
I ask this because upgrading Kirby is a significant outflow and will have a rather large impact on revenue and debt.
Gotta give credit to FSG, they've gone about their job well inspite of throwing in money on transfers.
Anyway, looking forward to hearing from you on this.

{Ed002's Note - The club, or at least the owners, would be happy to find a partner to assist financially but you need to remember that selling, say, 20% of the club for £500M gives no guarantee of that money being invested in the club - so at best it would be a lesser amount turned over for re-investment. Investors need a return on their money, and remembering that FSG are effectively venture capitalists, they want to find a way to leverage a a longer term profit for the club. But as we know the value of the "higher end" sides such as Liverpool do not make them attractive for investment.}

So correct me if I'm wrong Ed002, but the only way we have new owners would be either a soverign or a strong consortium who'd want a controlling interest.
And at our current valuation (infact not only us but all of top 6 clubs barring maybe City and spurs because of the debt) are unattractive investments for their value won't soar higher till maybe the Pan European league kicks in.

{Ed002's Note - I am afraid you are wrong and making assumptions.}

Hi ed, I don’t mean to romanticise things but, as you said FSG are venture capitalists and no doubt when they bought the club did so to eventually turn a profit. However, do you think they could / would ever change their views and want to hold on to the club in the much longer term due to them developing a genuine affinity for the club? Are they becoming genuine fans and enjoying the ride that Jurgen is taking the club on. I know they aren’t ever going to want to make a loss, but perhaps making a profit could become a much longer term goal?

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with "affinity", it is to do with financial viability and right now there is a great deal of money in football.}
