Ed001 is it just me or is anyone else finding it difficult as to where we need to strengthen next season 🤣 I can't remember a time when I've looked at our team and thought we don't really need anyone lol . what a great predicament to be in for klopp. and can't wait to see what transfers he comes up with cause I'm stumped 🤔.

{Ed001's Note - well we clearly need full-backs, but only because we can't expect Trent and Robbo to play every game.}

A new forward is a must too.

2.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 12:33:14
What would be a huge boost is if Wijnaldum took it to the next level with consistency in putting in the top performances we have seen from him, and more confidence in front of goal, he knows how to score but he could easily be a 10-15 a season from CM. Not to mention Ox who we missed all year and also Keita who had a very stop start season.

3.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 12:47:46
Yes true we could do with cover. but just not to sure we need like a marquee signing we seem to crave every season.

4.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 13:15:13
We need a versatile fullback, potentially an attacking midfielder/ winger who can bring that level of creativity in the middle we have been missing at times and more than likely a Migs replacement. Shame really as for a 2nd choice he's a top professional and can do a job if called upon, wages and his desire for 1st team football are obviously a factor though.

5.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 13:21:27
100% mate. I'd Probably look over at City though and see 2 top players for every position. The Ox will be like a new signing also at the start of the season.

6.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 13:25:45
We need forward cover imo.

7.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 13:32:05
I don't think we need a new forward, that'd be spending money for spending money sake. We have Origi who imo needs more games. I love Firmino and when fit he has to play but Origi next season needs to be rotated more.

Full backs yes, we do need cover, who? God kows, I'll let the club do their job, I don't expect a busy transfer window.

8.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 13:41:11
Have we identified any targets Ed?

{Ed001's Note - of course.}

9.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 13:51:35
Someone to challenge TAA and robbo at full back, either one that can play in both positions (if they exist) or one on either side, an experienced keeper to replace migs (unless he is happy as no.2). And someone to challenge Salah/ Mane as I don't think we play with a 'no 10' in our system. And our midfield is stacked.

Any other transfers would be to replace outgoing players.

05 Jun 2019 14:21:18
What’s everyone’s love for Origi about? Yes we wouldn’t of won the champions league without his goals but apart from his goal in the final everything about his game was awful. He’s not good enough it’s that simple. Ask yourself does he get into city’s, spurs, arsenal, Chelsea’s or united first eleven? For me the answer is no. If we have cover on the bench it’d should be equal to compete with the front three. Keeping Origi hinders Brewsters chances, Ings is a better striker that’s why there was interest in him.

11.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 14:24:24
I don't know that we do need a new striker. We have

Mane
Salah
Firmino
Origi
Brewster

Possibly
Shaqiri
The ox
And even lallana can play the false 9.

I wouldn't be surprised if a new forward comes in, especially as studge is off but also i wouldn't be surprised if brewster took the premier league by storm.

I think an attacking mid who can also play up front is more likely.

12.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 14:25:02
Would we really buy a new forward before seeing what Brewster can offer? Origi has proven that he can be relied upon several times.

Buying a new forward would get in the way of Brewster's development and Origi's involvement unless the new guy turned out to not be as good as them, which would be an absolute waste of money anyway.

13.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 15:13:17
Epic - I'm no pessimist but I've already seen and done that. I saw Woodburn have a stellar preseason and then it's been stagnant or downhill ever since. And I'm against placing all hopes and so much pressure on such a young player. Especially after an entire year being out, recovering from injury.

14.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 15:23:49
Agreed Pegleg. Finally someone took off their red tinted glasses and sees how poor Origi has been this season. If Liverpool are to win the league they can’t depend on a player that might score in an odd big game. His passing is awful and his work rate is not good enough!
Time to move him on when we might get a decent transfer fee for him. He should be replaced by someone in the mould of Firmino if possible!

15.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 15:34:37
Pegleg, you ungrateful person! You cannot deny Origi's made some strong contributions at the business end of the season and he's still only 24 years old! What are you on about? Who cares who Chelsea or Spurs play in the first 11? Afterall, one has Giroud and the other has Llorente, both in their 30's. I know who I'd stick around with!
Look, every club has its system, and some players click while others don't. Before Funes Mori assaulted the kid, Origi was taking Liverpool to the Europa league final almost by the scruff of the neck. The way he was playing prior to his injury, you can't deny we needed him and missed him badly when we faded in the second half against Sevilla.
What your cynical mind fails to see is that most players would have disappeared completely into oblivion considering how much Origi's career dipped after that injury. To come back into this team, a team that has Mane, Salah, and Firmino, and make such a telling contribution when we needed help the most should tell you there's something about Origi that is worth preserving.
The guy clearly has the right attitude to make it as a player, just as Henderson has worked hard to remain relevant among the glamor and glitz of modern playmaking midfielders. You need players like them with strong mindset and focus. What they don't have in sheer skills, they have in hardwork and perseverance.
If you can't see that, I'm very sorry I can't help you. Origi deserves a new contract if he's offered one. Period. And please, be grateful we were able to bring someone like him into the game, compared to last year against Real Madrid!

16.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 15:40:54
Did i just read: "what has origi done but win us the champions league"?

Pegleg, no offence mate but you need to have a word with yourself dude.

I remember origi having a decent run a few years ago, towards the end of our europa league season and he scored in nearly every game.

He has grown as a player and i wholeheartedly agree with salah that origi needs more games.

17.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 15:40:57
Pino35 to be fair I think Origi has stepped up when needed and we wouldn’t of won the champions league without him. However I don’t think he’s the grade we need, can he be improved on? Absolutely. Like I said earlier ask yourself does he get into any of the other top six teams? For me the answer is no, it’s no good having a player at this level to fill the squad you need players to push for their place and if one of our front three were out for a long period do he fill you with confidence to take one of the their places?

18.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 16:02:15
Yes Noski!

19.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 16:28:43
Last time I checked, none of those top 6 won this year's CL. He can't get in any of those teams? So what? He's with Liverpool, and Liverpool just won the CL dude. Like Noski said, every teams with their own system. From what he has contributed so far, I'm happy and confident with him in the team.

20.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 17:08:17
All you Origi bashers should be ashamed of yourselves! Some fans use are! Bunch of plastics! I for one back Origi and can't wait for him to prove you all wrong next season!

21.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 17:56:02
Like who Ed001?Don't leave me hanging mate😡.

{Ed001's Note - don't worry mate I would never leave you hanging. I would always be prepared to push you over the edge...}

22.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 18:31:23
Nobody is bashing Origi it’s a simple observation as to where the teams need to improve. Everybody is claiming Firmino is irreplaceable in the team then why wait for the day he does leave to go looking for a replacement! Over the season Origi has had his chances and on more than one occasion failed to do so! His all around game just isn’t good enough to command a starting spot.
I also don’t get why people are heaping all the praise on Origi for winning the champions league when he was not really involved until the second leg of the semi final! It’s a real disservice to all the players who sacrificed everything to get through the group stages and knockout games up to that point!

23.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 18:41:27
We could do with a couple more Milners in the squad (players who are experienced, hard working, reliable, versatile, great attitude, etc) . Mostly just to provide cover so lads can have a rest now and again. A bit of depth would allow us to challenge on all fronts as well. I would like to see us sign a quality box to box midfielder though; preferably someone with a bit of creativity.

24.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 18:45:40
'Ask yourself does he get into city’s, spurs, arsenal, Chelsea’s or united first eleven? '

Why bring that lot up? who cares if he would or he wouldn't he got into OUR team, you know, the team who won the bloody champions league mate and if it wasn't for him we wouldn't of got there nor would we have gone for the title this season if it weren't for his goals. He knows where the net is and that's what a striker is all about, he's bloody quality so nevermind this red tinted stuff, open your eyes and see what kind of player we have in Origi. None of us would've been celebrating anything this season if it weren't for him. How bloody ungrateful are some of you? unreal, just unreal.

25.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 18:53:31
While he is pulling on our shirt and doing his best for the club and the fans he should be respected and he is part of the lfc family who won the champions league nobody is saying he won it single handed it's a team game and he is just as important as any of the player

Can we buy better yes we could. would anyone better come in and warm a bench hoping to get a game seriously doubt it if they would I would question if we should buy them. finally do I think origi can improve yes I think he can and I think he could eventually get into rotation he has the right attitude and he obviously works hard the guy deserves praise as much as everyone who played along the way.

26.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 19:02:55
What do you mean Origi failed with his chances? Origi has been class whenever called upon. Everton, Wolves, Barcelona, Newcastle, Tottenham. He is not Firmimo, but offers something different with his direct play. Also, remember that Firmimo had a very average season, by your logic he has failed in a greater proportion of games than Origi. I would definately keep him unless he wants to leave.

27.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 19:09:27
origi's like a dragonball z character. keeps finding ways to surpass himself. I'm curious how he does next season.

28.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 19:21:42
It's like a Mony Python sketch.
So what has Origi done for us?
The Champions League?
Yeah well obviously the Champions League
3 points against Everton?
To right couldn't have scored at a better time.
3 points at Newcastle?
Obviously he got us 3 points against Newcastle. But apart from that what has Origi done for us?
Winning goal against Barcelona in the semis?
Oh yeah.

29.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 19:59:39
I’m sorry Salah, but if Origi had been sold last summer I’m 100% certain Klopp would have brought in a better player to replace him and we may have been celebrating the double, but too often he hasn’t performed in the league when needed. If the club are happy to not go looking for players to improve the first eleven then we will be battling for the top four again next season.
I still can’t get over the fact that you think Origi single handily won the Champions League!
I guess all those games won by the team without Origi weren’t that important lol.

30.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 20:12:59
Well apart from the Champions league final, Everton, Newcastle and Barcelona. What has Divock Origi ever done for us😂.

31.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 21:15:21
I am not sure about Origi either but you can't deny we probably wouldn't have won the champions league with out him so i would at least give him another season.
People seem so sure that Brewster is the next big thing (really hope he is) but no one can be sure about this - he hasn't done anything yet at the top level so we just don't know!
I really hope we sign someone like Werner who can and will compete for a front 3 position. I really feel that if we get someone of this stature we may just about topple City next year.

32.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 21:16:36
Pegleg and Pino, I want to assume you're not just trolls. This kid has done essentially what he's been asked to do as a striker, and you still can't be satisfied? What exactly do you want? Even when we celebrate the first trophy in how many years, you still find a way to sound bitter! It's like what Ed002 says all the time. If you can't value your own player, then who will? You want Dybala or Pepe on the bench before you're satisfied. This is not the Liverpool I used to know. Heavens know just about every Liverpool fan was biting their nails off until that Origi goal in the 87th minute. Take Origi out of the equation against Barcelona, and what would have happened?
Like I said, Giroud, Llorente, and Origi. I know who I'd take.
Liverpool fans used to support their own through thick and thin. Please be grateful for what you have. The grass is not always greener on the other side!

33.) 05 Jun 2019
05 Jun 2019 22:25:31
Exactly Noski.

No wonder Ed2 says what he says about Liverpool fans, he winds us up on purpose I'm sure of it but part of me thinks at times, 'hang on, is he wrong? '

34.) 06 Jun 2019
06 Jun 2019 04:46:13
We shouldn't be comparing our depth with City's, we can't afford to be paying players 200k a week to sit on the bench. We'll have to be clever about improving our depth and the likes of Shaqiri for 13m, a good player with international experience and Origi's return to pre-injury form and levels or someone like Brewster being given the chance to prove himself, are the way we' ll do it in most cases.

It's silly to be comparing Origi to Chelsea and Spurs' starting strikers. Compare him to their back ups, I'd definitely have him over llorente and giroud at the club. He's scored important goals v Newcastle, Everton, Barcelona and Spurs and clearly has something about him, with Klopp's coaching, he'll also improve. I'm more than happy to have him as our main back up striker next season.

35.) 07 Jun 2019
07 Jun 2019 11:01:07
Origi class? 😂 I have no interest in abusing the player but I just don’t think he will produce performances consistently to be effectively rotated with the front 3. The fact that Klopp has started Sturridge over him on a couple of occasions just proves he also has doubts about the player.

It would have been interesting if Sturridge had gotten a goal and played well against Newcastle he might have started against Barcelona!
Firmino consistently works hard for the team even on an off day so I’m not sure why you are having a go at him!?
