Ed01, I wish to seek your opinion on how best you think we can handle the CB issues we had sometimes in January where 3 of our 4 senior CBs were out injured and Fabinho had to step in as makeshift at some point. I believe that spell had a bit of negative impact on our title push. Not being pessimistic but how do you think we can be better prepared for moments like these? Lovren seem not to have put his injuries behind him yet and Matip, until the second half of the season, was in and out of the squad due to injuries. It worries me big and need a bit of perspective to it. Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - the only thing you can do is have back ups that are injured less often. Injuries are going to happen though.}

ed001 do you think the Gomez injury was unlucky on 2 counts. impact injury like that are unlucky, But the complications he had was even more so and if they had done the op straight away he would have been beck twice as fast. And all Joe's injury's have been bad injury's I can't remember him being out to much with short term injury's. And I think it was on the coach parade where VVD was interviewing him and you can see was he thinks about him. I think it is about time Joe had a season without any bad luck and we should be ok. All so ed001 do you think we should keep him well away from the full back role what I think will help him. I thought at the start of the season at cb he looked world class and would have given VVD run for his money as are best player.
IN JOE WE TRUST YNWA.

{Ed001's Note - bad luck has defo dogged him at times, plus he is growing still, so that can cause some injuries to happen. I certainly would prefer to keep him in the centre, those extra yards that are needed at full back could be just enough to stress any niggles.}

Matip has really stepped up. Gomez needs to be given time to get back into the swing of things. At least we know we have ample cover at RB with Milner, Gomez and Fab plus any academy players willing to step up. Even Hendo can play at RB.

We definitely need cover t LB.

Trent first choice at RB. He is a beast!

Not to mention he's a awful right full doesn't suit him for me at all offers little going forward and falls asleep defensively he isn't comfortable there in comparrassion to him playing centre half, the confidence levels are so different he strives CB and could be world class if he gets 2 full seasons there.

A full pre season will do him great. I'm sure he will be itching to build up that partnership with virg again as he was playing so well. His pace and power are so well suited to the PL. His injury problems suggest bad luck as opposed to regular occurring muscle injuries so I'm not too worried. His play suits Trent too, when Trent gets caught high up the field, Gomez pace was often useful in covering in behind. Matip lacks that burst of recovery speed. I think Gomez and Trent can build up a strong connection for club and country for many years hopefully.
