I just don't see this alleged 2 year loan with an option to buy for £80m for coutinho being remotely true, for one Barcelona want rid now, why wait 2 years and with moves for griezmann and potentially neymar being very expensive they would want the coutinho fee this season, also why would Liverpool loan coutinho for 2 years, at the age of 27, then want to buy him for £80m at the age of 29, where he will at most have another 2 decent years. Just doesn't add up for me.

Liverpool wouldn't pay the 80million. barca still owe us that amount.

Why loan him at all? Are we going to trial him and see if he's any good? Load of porkies.

I think there are certain "people" trying to force Cou down our throats and the fans seem to be buying the complete nonsense that this whole thing actually is. This is abject nonsense and I will tell you why.

Just judging by the empirical evidence on show, LFC were better without Cou right after he left, we scored more goals, conceded WAY less, got more points, got almost 100 points w/ o him, dumped him and his "dream team", and won the CL. How on earth will would we have anything to do with such a player/ .

Also, Klopp does not sign players he has worked with before (even those he had a great relationship with like Gotze, Hummels, etc) so why would he sign a player that pretty much threw his pleas to stay, right back in his face and left slamming the door in Klopp's, the players' and the club's face? Don't even get me started on the "loan to buy" nonsense being touted about.

IMO, this is just Cou's people putting stuff out there in the ether to see who bites and clearly, it is working. It ain't going to happen and to me, this is all a bunch of bunk.

{Ed002's Note - Damn - you found out it was “people”.}

I don't think it'll happen, but i hope it does. Especially as we won't have to hand any cash over, with Barcelona still owing us more than 80mil.

{Ed002's Note - Nonsense. Where do you get the BS from?}

I read it somewhere. can't remember where. Sorry if its incorrect. I thought it sounded weird. I figured we probably still owe saints and roma.

Redwolf i’ll make you wrong there. Klopp re-signed Nuri Sahin for Dortmund.

True l8red. Similar circumstances too. And coutinio is way way better than sahin.

It won't happen though. If we were going to sign a player like that i reckon klopp and co wouldve gone for fekir at the 35mil that is being talked about. isn't that less than we offered for him after we found out about his knee? It was 50 odd, then we tried with a 40mil bid and walked away when they said no.

True l8red, Klopp did sign Sahin n in fact Kagawa if I'm not mistaken but the situations were different. Could it be that he had to sign them back cos his players kept getting cherry-picked by Bayern and RM (who signed Sahing from BVB) or Utd (who signed Kagawa)? Just a thought.

Robbie, the dynamics are diff. here and comparing Sahin to Cou is a non argument cos both do not play the same position. Klopp does not have to sell his players or get his players taken away from him like it was at BVB. Klopp signed Sahin and Kagawa back to BVB. Name one player he has resigned ever since. None is the answer to that hence him signing both those players proves nothing other than the fact that a dead clock being right twice a day, is still a dead clock and cannot be trusted to tall the time all the time.
