Isn't this were Ed002 appears and says something like 'Try the Man United page'?

I think you’ve jumped the gun here mate.

Defence transformed overnight? You were a post and a cross bar away from concedeing 2 goals against Chelsea.

AWB is a massive talent but Maguire is average to good at best (as is Lindelof) .

Pogba will hold back progress as long as he’s there and you don’t have a single CM of discernible quality to open up a defence.

The juries out on James at the moment, he could end up being class or another Zaha.

Rashford is a massive talent and I think can be your CF for the next decade but Martial is simply not good enough imo, he’s decent but not of the required standard to win or challenge for titles.

Added to that, your manager is OGS - enough said.

{Ed047's Note - did you see McGuire get turned inside out in the first few minutes by Jimenez.

That and Shaw getting roasted by of all people Traore.

Lingard, Pogba and McNobody - that midfield will strike fear into the heart of any team - in league One.

We all love our team but jeez! 🤷‍♂️

Agree Shaq and I also noticed how poor Utd’s Bench looked against Wolves. On a plus though they have Lingaard who has managed to not score or assist a single goal 11 out of the last 12 months.

Well he does say the evolution has begun, not finished! Saying that United seem to be playing better, but then again they couldn't have got much worse. Maguire does look to be better but then again if you had Jones and Smalling before it would be that difficult. AWB should concentrate on actually passing the ball to a team mate, especially when he gets in the opposing half, but it is only his second game so time to improve.

A few injuries and United will be screwed in my opinion.

People forget that this happened last season. When Ole has them on a run of results they win games. The issuevlast year was that when they lost the first couple of games, the wheels came off. Heads went down, and Ole had absolutely no ability as a tactician or a man manager to fix the problems. They'll go well for the first two or three months and then it'll fall apart. That is the worst Man United midfield for 30 years and I've seen them line up with Nani, Anderson, Cleverley and Young! The front line is now basically the same as the one that got LVG the sack. The defence is decent. If you want to see evolution look at what a good manager like Emery is doing at Arsenal.

Evolving into a mid table team?
They need to sell pogba and other negative influences and start investing wisely.
They need an experienced rebuilding manager, let him decide on a playing style and not be pressured into playing the same way alex Ferguson did, back him to buy 3-5 first team, up and coming brilliant players, then build a team around them and any promising youth players they have.
They will need as much as 5 years to get back to the top now.

The writer of the article is supremely misinformed. I saw large chunks of the games vs Chelsea and Wolves and frankly, Utd are meh, at best. Sure, they beat Chelsea who have more teething problems that Utd. does and could have been 2 goals up before the Rashford penalty and after that, they just capitalized on Lampard's mistakes of playing a high defensive line and got done with pace on the counter.

As for the Wolves game, that midfield was dreadful esp. going against the Wolves midfield that have better players than Utd does with Moutinho, DenDoncker and the brilliant Neves. Neves alone is better than MacTominay and Lingard combined and IMO, better than the useless Pogba. Sure their goal was great but after that, nothing really.

As for Maguire, who are we kidding? Utd have dreadful CB's so of course he would be an improvement on dreadful. You don't need to be even good, to improve on dreadful and yet, Maguire is still slow, can't read the game and has no hips so can't turn when rolled by a CF. Going against Jimenez was a mismatch that Wolves should have taken more advantage of cos to me, he is just too good for Wolves.

All in all, Utd are down at the bottom of the barrel in terms of quality (Martial is actually worse than he was when he arrived 4 years ago) as a team and the slow climb from dreadful to mediocre will be long and hard at this point.

They may have improved and they may be awkward to play against but the fear factor in playing them went years ago.

They are not likely to challenge for the title and they will do well to get top four.

As for Europe they are way way off the mark.

Hope OGS stays a while and they keep fighting with Wolves Leicester and the rest for top 6.

Don’t really see any of their players getting into our first eleven.

Harsh calling McTominay a nobody Ed047 when you have Xhaka playing most games in your midfield Ed. Agree we're far from it though, need a major major upgrade at left back aswell or else we're hindering Maguire who will need to come out of position and cover at left back pretty much every 5 mins.

Also have a good week Ed, aside from Saturday when you will inevitably receive your annual Anfield thrashing lol. 👋🏻.

{Ed047's Note - Scholes I wouldn’t have Xhaka in our midfield if it was down to me mate the same as you shouldn’t have McTominay to be honest, I don’t see him as anything for the future.

I’m working the w’end mate but luckily will be back for the game, I’ll be happy if we turn up and don’t get rolled over again.

Don’t forget you have to go there too mate and you’ll defo get an absolute shoeing! 😉😂

Have a good weekend yourself mate. 👍🏼

Better off doing some overtime on Saturday Ed047. And we'll see, remember Ed033 saying we wouldn't be Spurs last season home or away only to beat them 1-0 at Wembley.

{Ed047's Note - what, Spurs the perennial bottlers, well done mate. 😂

I’ll be watching it no matter what. Be rude not too. 😉

Them being bottlers was besides the point Ed047, had more to do with Ed033's visionary prediction lol. But to be honest, i think you'll do better than last season when you lost 5-1, going for a 4-1 this time around😉.

{Ed047's Note - I know mate it was just a dig at Spurs! 🤷‍♂️😂

I’ve really no idea how we’ll do, it’s a great opportunity to see if Emery has organised us any better defensively and so far I’m not truly convinced.

We’ve started with two easier fixtures and have 6 points, last season started with two tough fixtures, got zero points.

If we do get battered 4-1 then we’ll be just the same as the last 10 seasons. 🙄

Yh i agree, need to be a lot stronger this season defensively, Tierney could go on to be fantastic but CB's remain an issue even with Luiz coming in, excellent going forward though and midfield actually is quite good with Torreira, Guendouzi and Ceballos, maybe lacking a bit of depth. Two top CB's and that's a team good enough to challenge for the title IMO.

{Ed047's Note - I’d like to eventually see Bellerin, Holding, Saliba and Tierney across the back with those 3 in midfield, clearly not this season and Nagelsmann was the one for me.

Not yet convinced with Emery either but this season is much more his team so will see how it goes.

We’re also finally hearing positive things from Josh Kroenke, looks like Stan has given it to him to run.

So I’m feeling more positive but not counting any chickens after 2 of our supposed easier games.

I deleted the other part of the post mate as answered here. 😁

Martial has the potential to be a very good striker imo but will never be anything more than a decent winger, he has pace, is clinical, has decent movement and is a good dribbler but can't cross, is inconsistent, has poor decision making and isn't up for a fight if the going gets tough, if the game isn't going his way he can often disappear.

Lemuel, they have been saying that about Martial since he arrived in England in 2015. He has not amounted to much since then and IMO, he has gotten worse. Sadio Mane arrived in England a year before him for way less money and look at him now. I can name a bunch of other players who have left Martial in the dust since then, man. He is one-trick pony with pace, IMO.
