Looking forward to arsenal on Saturday after having a full week to prepare, anfield will be the difference, our team is designed to hurt this type of arsenal side at home, they're dreadful on the road too.

I'd want Gomez back in for his pace, fabinho and hendo with either gini or ox. Milner not the best option to start this type of game. I'm not worried about arsenal, they can't afford to start all 3 of auba lacazette and pepe with ceballos too. Maitland niles will be in for a tough day with robbo and mane if he's not given help on that wing. Same on the other wing.

Ceballos looked good at the Emirates against Burnley where he had acres of time and possession, he won't get that at anfield and a slow rash xhaka beside him won't be of any benefit. A CB partnership looking shaky will be dragged about by our front 3 and arsenal will find it hard to get their forwards into dangerous areas.

Arsenal really looked dodgy against Burnley and Newcastle both teams lacking real attacking threat yet they caused all kinds of problems. I can see us cutting them to shreds personally and inflicting a real hammering.

I'm usually very realistic and always cautious so this isn't red tinted over hype, I genuinely feel this is set up to be a big mis match in style.
Thoughts?

Agree Gomez should play for his pace although i think matip has been r best defender defensively if that makes sense lol.

In midfield I'd play hendo, fab and gini.

We have looked a little shaky at the back at times so far this season and arsenal will have chances and I di expect them to score, but their defence is a car crash waiting to happen, and i predict we will win 4 2.

{Ed0666's Note - Jamie Carragher thinks they will cause us serious issues with their pace and our supposed new ‘high line’ defending. Personally I think he’s jumping on the sky bandwagon. Personally I think we’ll give them a pasting.

Pepe will start for the first time and he's the anomaly in all this. They're also an enigma at the back. I really rate David Luiz but it obviously depends on if he turns up with his defensive head or his crazy head. I've no doubts that it will be a great game.

{Ed0666's Note - I don’t think they’re an anomaly at the back Epic I think they are just plain shi*. If we can’t beat a team with a defense that poor then we don’t deserve to win the game.

A full weeks rest is a bonus.

I wonder would they start pepe though? I think if he started you'd need to leave out either auba or lacazette in exchange for midfield strength, they would be taking a risk going that attack heavy at anfield.

Though they might want to play auba and pepe out wide and try to target our FBs I think that would play into our hands, they gave 2 weak full backs and with no support the likes of Trent salah and robbo mane getting 2v1 at pace would be devastating as it's been the last couple of seasons we've played arsenal at home. Interesting stat that each of our front 3 have scored in every single one of their games in this fixture.

{Ed0666's Note - I hear you mate their wide forwards don’t do the dirty work defensively like Salah and mane and obviously Bobby.

I'm really looking forward to the game and I have no doubt our lads will rip their defence to shreds.

Im really looking forward to the game but guys let's not get cocky and overconfident. They have a good team some really good attacking players and loads of pace.

On there day they could really hurt us. History is irrelevant.

If our defending doesn't improve, Arsenal have the firepower up front to cause us problems.

O think Gomez will start at Rb

usual practice for Klopp lately for defending team with pace.

Arsenal have the firepower to cause damage to any team so that is not news to anyone who actually watches PL footie. People said the same thing last season before they came to Anfield and tho, they scored first, that midfield and defence, completely capitulated to our press and fitrepower that they conceded 4 in a 30 mins span. The same good attack, average midfield (Xhaka will make any good midfield weaker) hopeless defence, will turn up at Anfield this Sat, to face the very same attack that ripped them a new one. Sorry, I love our chances under these circumstances. It's not about being cocky. It's about being certain of your strengths perfecting them. Klopp does not allow for such things in his prep. for games and I know we will be fully prepared to bring the pain.

As for our perceived weaknesses in defence and to some extent, midfield, I think it is mainly down to our boys still trying to gel after preseason and with Adrian in goal, who is diff. from Allison. The full week we have had will hopefully allow us to get thing right for the most part and with Anfield rocking to the beat of the Champions of Europe, I am confident we can get the win.

Yeah I wouldn't say we're being cocky or arrogant just assessing the realistic chances. I was pretty worried we would struggle vs Southampton and would need to grind out a narrow win, I'm much more confident of this game playing to our favour as certain teams suit us to play against.

As silly as some may think, I'd fancy us at home to arsenal more than I would if we were playing Burnley at turf moor for example. Bournemouth too always get smashed by us and city simply due to how their set-up is perfect for us and city to exploit.

Arsenal haven't changed much to make me think we can't run them ragged again in a realistic not arrogant prediction.
