Question for ed002,

I read one of your responses that said Rui pinto "quite rightly" remains imprisoned.

Forgive me if I'm assuming but do you say quite rightly because of the stolen information?

If so do you not think that exemptions have to be made for whistle blowers since without them corruption and hidden crime remain undetected. Essentially imprisoning a whistle blower acts as a deterrent for anyone who wants to shine a light on corruption and crime.

{Ed002's Note - He is a self admitted thief. Some of the information provided has been refutted by the clubs - and some of the information against FIFA and UEFA has been claimed as untrue. Other information was only released in part and taken out of context.}

That may be true about how the information was released and how complete it was but it has led to an investigation into bigger things - which can only be considered a good thing in football.

It's only my personal opinion but I think a whistle-blower with valid information should be protected from punishment or what motivation is there for anyone to ever blow the whistle when you know it will ruin your life.

{Ed002's Note - The point is that it wasn’t’t all valid information - and some was incomplete.}

Interesting to note, however, that some of the most serious cheating transgressions in a sport like cycling (Operation Puerto / Lance Armstrong and US Postal) have come about through whistle blowing. Perhaps it just goes to show how weakly the FFP rules are policed?

{Ed002's Note - They are not weakly policed at all. There have been numerous teams punished and warned for infractions.}

Ed002, how vital was the information released by Pinto in producing the judgment that UEFA have made?
If such information, some of which appeared to expose unlawful behaviour, was in fact necessary, how can this be anything other than a positive thing?
Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - It contributed to the evidence. Some of it has not been validated - one media outlet found some of it inaccurate. Not good enough and illegal.}

Whatever he done and the outcome, hacking is illegal.
Etihad maybe part owned blah blah blah but as a company have brought a huge amount of work to Manchester especially the airport

Let’s just wait and see and stop talking about another team here please.

hacking and releasing to the public is not whistleblowing.
