Ive not really followed Artur Melo apart from remembering that Juventus paid a lot of money for him. So assuming we do sign what are people's thought's. Eds have you seen him play recently?

I will just say this, if he was signing for us, I'd be asking "Why god, Why?". He has struggled to impress enough at Barca or Juve to cement a starting berth for multiple reasons. And IIRC, he might be a bit of a troublesome character, unless I'm getting things mixed up.

Just had a quick look at his stats.

21/ 22 - 31 appearances
20/ 21 - 32 appearances
19/ 20 - 28 appearances
18/ 19 - 44 appearances.

On an article I read earlier it said over the last 5 years in the top 5 leagues in Europe he is in the top percentage of midfielders for successful pass percentage and progressive passes.

Not going to lie I’ve never seen the guy play that I remember but apparently he’s meant to be very good in keeping possession and finding passes that Thiago does.

It’s going to be a case of wait and see I suppose though ??‍♂️.

Thanks for the info, JK. By those numbers, he seems to be fit and consistent enuff in terms of appearances. Like you, never really seen him play BUT Klopp won’t sign someone even this late, if he doesn’t tick many of the required boxes. Let’s wait and see.
