Yes Chris it would of been 4/ 5 to Liverpool as we would of been ruthless going toe to toe and not managing the game!

I actually think our game management wasn’t great. Good game management would have been shutting up shop, keeping the ball with the extra man, making the game boring and conserving energy.

What we did do was which was create lots of chances for ourselves which we didn’t score but at the same time allow Newcastle quite a few which we owe Allison a gratitude for not conceding.

Yeah Waddle talking out his backside. We were in the ascendency and had pope left the ball might have been 3-0 and game over. We seemed to struggle more with their adjustments than they did losing the man. Can't help but think sit deep and counter we'd have won a lot more comfortably.

Totally agree, need to wake up a bit from the setpieces but on the whole the result wasnt really ever in doubt. Better concentration and we could have had a hatful ourselves.

Jamie Redknapp was doing my head in saying that Pope handled it but there was a player getting back on the line so it should be a yellow not a red. THAT PLAYER CAN’T HANDLE TO BALL JAMIE!

And let’s not forget the free header from Gakpo from the free kick we won from Pope’s handball. Either side of the keeper and that’s 3-0 after 25 minutes.

People will obviously point to chances Newcastle had and say they could’ve got back in the game but if each team took every chance we are winning that game 10-3.

I was listening to Waddle on the BBC commentary as well and said exactly the same to my missus - put your bias away man. I’ve been saying for weeks that Newcastle are very fortunate to be in that top 4 spot. They are only there because some of the usual suspects (us, Chelsea, Spurs) have been a bit off the pace. They definitely won’t end the season in a CL spot (but nor might we unless this is the start of a real good run) .

I've said for a while that the longer Newcastle are in the top four they might need to take a few more risks to stay there. They do have attacking options, they'll need to use them and that could mean they concede more goals.

WDW in fairness mate before the Everton game we had been pretty useless. Great to see we’ve hopefully turned that corner though. Back to back wins and forwards looking like they are all in sync.
