If Caicedo is set on Chelsea, then that is fair enough, as they do seem to have put the most effort into signing him.

Green maybe I'm being naive here but joining Chelsea over Liverpool isn't really his option at the minute

Chelsea have stated they will not offer the 100m plus that Brighton want, hence all their bids have been rejected. Liverpool made a significant bid over that figure that Brighton accepted

It's not about the 'work Chelsea have put in' is it? It is simply making a bid acceptable to the selling club, hence our failures with Lavia

Look, Chelsea might well come in with a bid to match Liverpool, they may not, but as it stands only Liverpool have made an acceptable offer

The thing most people seem to forget in this is that Brighton simply do not need to sell him - they would rather keep him. They sold MacAllister to us for 35m and the keeper to Chelsea for around 25m, they do not need the money. They value the player and do not wish to sell but will if a very large bid is received in excess 0f 100m

As it stands, until Chelsea actually match that bid, his options are to go to Liverpool or stay at Brighton - he might well prefer Chelsea but until they match Liverpool's offer, they are not an option

Gotta love transfer season though lads, everything changes in a heartbeat haha.

Bill, I think it is about how hard Chelsea have been trying to sign him, as they have sold their project to him. Caicedo allegedly has no interest in joining Liverpool
Liverpool should forget him and concentrate on other options. Would you really want a player who has no interest in playing for Liverpool.

I agree Alonso. We know the money is there so let’s get someone who wants to come. Disappointed in Caicedo’s attitude but if he wants to join Chelsea let them pay the fee.
