Evening eds. I'm a bit confused with the final LFC transfers that may be going ahead. If we are after Dann, Enrique, Cahill, why are we waiting for them to possibly be injured in the next 2 weeks or do you anticipate some activity very shortly. I imaging that the wait is due to fees etc, but are these players going to be playing for their current clubs cone Saturday?

Hay eds macca if your still here. a link on news now from gulf news say that yossy will be offered as a sweeteners in any deal for modric do you think we will try sign a similar type player if he dose in fact go to spurs. Enrique is definitely coming but I think it could be a couple of weeks yet. I Still think we desperately need another flair player before the window shuts. We seem to be buying a lot of English players but the truth is, England (bar Ashley Young) are awful as we all know If Utd get Sneijder, along with the rest of the team (with Jones and Smalling, the only good aspect of the U21's tournament) I think they will be head and shoulders above the rest and it will take a huge investment to catch them up over the next few years. They are ultimately we need to catch year after next and I am not convinced Henderson, Adam and Downing will get us there. I personally think that the board will have to accept that they will have to pay more for class players until we are in the CL, but am not sure the new boys will take us there. Hope so.
And no, before anyone starts, I don't think I could do better than KK, just an opinion.

looking at some of the players that are still at liverpool, that we all thought that would have left this summer, the likes of el zhar, degen, etc. seeing that its getting close to the end of the window and there being no sign of them leaving (although i know that once the season starts for real, and teams see that they're still short, that theres a chance they might get shifted) do you think that some of the players, like the above will just be released? degen was a bosman, el zhar,a small fee, etc. would it cost them more to pay them off, or to pay them whilst they're at the club? just hope that they go now, or they'll still be at our club, sponging big wages, sat on their arses til january, and still not getting the hint that theyre not wanted

I will disagree with you on the Cahill , Dann or any defender , I am convinced we wont be buying any this window(unless the Enrique thing collapse for one reason or another)

Hi Does any one knows what is going to happen with pacheco? I think we should keep him and loan him out to norwich again until january so he can get some premier league experience. I think he will be great for us.
I think we should also loan out shelvey as we have so many midfeilders i dont think he will get any games except at carling cup where we could use coady. I think this shelvey can be pure class and the way he wants to play pass and move is just fantastic. Its just sad that some of the people dont recognize his potential and criticize him. He's just 19 for cryin out loud. I think loaning him out to swansea would be great because it suits his style of play. Look how good wilshere has turned out since that loan spell at bolton. jonjo looked way ahead of cleverley but look at cleverley now.

I for 1 would be so happy if Enrique, Yossi and either Dann or Cahill were signed, however I also think that if the sales of Aquilani and Meireles go through we will sign another CM and would hazard a guess that the most likely would be Moussa Sissoko.

I dont know if there is anyone else out there that used to be pi**ed off when a couple of seasons back we were called a " one man team". ( gerrard) Then Torres came along, and then we were a two man team. I'm just thinking back to the post 2005 side and the team we had, including the 2 above, alonso, mascherano, benayoun, carragher, hyppia, reina, and I'm thinking what a waste. It was just a shame that rafa couldnt take the brakes off that team and let just them attack.

I see I may of upsetor annoyed certain footballing experts with my post to the ED's regarding Benayoun not being a a good signing and his comments about Chelsea being a bigger club.
I will begin with the Benayoun comments first. He was interviewed by a SSN Journalist a couple of days after signing for Chelsea and stated they had a better set up than us and had more opportunties to win trophies with Chelsea. He did however thank the club for his time spent with LIverpool FC and the fans for their suport to him. It's possible he was still angry with the way Raffa had treated him.
My opinion on Benayou being googd enough for Liverpool FC is just that (MY OPINION) I am not saying i am right. But to suggest i'm a bit of a div for what I posted earlier does not make sense. R.F.E

Hello ed and Macca Thanks for update on Enrique and an idea regarding CBs. But Benayoun is something i'm not sure about. Its not like i dont like him. I rate him and though he is not enough to start games since he is not hard worker and wont tackle much, he would be very good Sub when needed and can open defenses with his skill and guile. Certainly better than COLE. But this do not fall under FSG policy of signing youth and also he's had a serious injury last year. Any way would welcome him for a small fee like 3mil and reasonable wages if we could get rid of unwanted players. He would be a supersub for many matches and he's got a touch of Silva.

Ed's u never post my emails very disappointed.
I'm Irish and just thought i'd say that in robbie keane's half a season at liverpool he scored 5 league goals and . 2 against WBA one against Arsenal and 2 against Bolton. He also got two goals in the champions league. One against PSV and the other at Athletico Madrid. One more league goal than Suarez. Keane is an excellent back up choice for us. In his short Lpool career keane was not given a chance.

I hope my fellow Reds don't mind, but i would like to talk about "Football" and "LFC" for a change.
I still don't think our squad is good enough yet. We still need a left-footed LB, so he can stay wide when Downing cuts in and takes the full-back with him. I also think that we need another CB a commanding CB, like Hyppia. We've never replaced Hyypia (which won't be easy) but we've seen how Jamie and Agger struggle against the likes of Drogba. I'd like to see another LW too because i've already said, what happens if Downing gets injured? Do we play Maxi or Mireless there again? If we could get another striker in aswell as a LB, LW and CB, then we could be challenging this season, on all fronts.
Apology's for talking about football, but it seems to be a rare commodity on here these days.

Rumours of Benny coming back starting to gather a bit of pace. I can't see it happening myself as I don't really see him as young enough and I think the owners would be a bit concerned if Kenny proposed the transfer to them. I mean he's a great player just seems abit of a weird one if you ask me..
Any of the Ed's see it happening and do you think it would be a wise move?

You know guys one match I was hoping to get abandoned due to rain or any other reason was england Vs india and india are getting clobbered.suddenly the whole indian batting line up as talented as sachin are batting as poulson plays for us with no clue at all.
Its like messi has turned into traore.

Whatever people may of thought about Jovanovic he left to go and play football, which is more than can be said about the likes of Poulsen or Ngog. I know part of the blame has to rest with the negotiator that agreed the contracts, but Ngog could have been a Sunderland player by now probably on around 20k a week, sounds good enough to me.
I keep seeing Gary Cahill's name mentioned and for the life of me i can not understand how he is worth anywhere near £18m, people have a go at Carra (me included) for constantly kicking it long and then say we should buy Cahill who does exactly the same thing.
For me Scott Dann is a much better option, just because he's cheaper doesn't mean he isn't as good. Just look at what became of Birmingham when he got injured.

If we qualify for Champions League (Which we will) then players like Eden Hazard will defiantely be pursued, as will Moussa Sissoko. If we fail to buy a CB or ST this window, then the transfer team will look at performances and see how we are coping with the squad and assess it in January and decide then. However if we are doing well then I don't see many players being brought in, only players leaving that we didn't get rid of this window.

With the Current state of situations in Liverpool, is there a chance that the game on Saturday might be called off? I am big fan visiting from India, and have bought a boot room loyalty package. I return on 19th.
If it does get postponed (I hope to god it does not - this will be my first anfield experience and who knows when I can come to the UK next) it looks like I will only be provided a ticket for the rearranged fixture, which will obviously be useless for me :( Does anybody here know if there is a way to get a refund? Maybe if I explain my situation? Does one of the eds or any one else know someone inside the club who could probably help me - look at my case as a special one? is anyone else concerned about how this transfer window has gone so far? weve bought two players which we didnt really need for over a combined price of around 20m and spent another 20m on a 27 year old who is by no means world class how is downing ever going to have a resale value? squad still lacks depth i believe especially iin defence anyone share the same opinion?

i dont see why people are still moaning - please do your homework and go watch some reserve and friendly matches. We have 2 excellent fullbacks who broke through last year, not forgetting of course kelly who by the way is a centre back and is probably the fastest defender we have. We have coady, sterling, suso, ngoo, sama & wisdom (absolute monster defenders), and as im sure you will all agree when he does make the first team we have a special striker called Morgan this lad is the next Fowler. I for one am very happy with the future of our club. do you agree eds that these players can all make the brake through this year or next?

hi ed i was just thinking that it is most likely that our standard formation will be 4-2-3-1 this is the formation with which our youth teams also plays.adam will play kd really admires him.i am just little worried that where will kd fit in suarez.i have read in many sites that suarez will play at right and gerrard just behind carrol.i just dont think that is suarez best position.he can play good there but behind carrol he can be mind blowing.thats why with player we have bought i think suarez might end up playing RF or LF i dont think that we will be making full use of his ability like this.
also for our CB i just think that mertasarcker should be obvious choice.dann and cahill are good too but if for 5-6 mil we are getting top quality and experienced(he is still 26) CB its is absolute bargain.

Hi Reds. First time poster but been following for a while. Regarding the LB situation, I would be perfectly happy to see no signing. IF Fab stays fit great, otherwise Jack Robinson can cover as can Johnson. CB looks more urgent, we have one of the slowest central defences in the league. Sorry if this has been talked about before, but would be interested in your thoughts. Out of Dann and Cahill, who is the quicker? Would love to see Dann sign personally as he's a local lad, but yoy only have to look at our some of our most committed players to see that foreigners can embrace the Liverpool spirit.
